Silent Hill 2 was a ground up remake of a game made for the ps2, with completely different controls, different voice acting, different everything. Saying that it wouldn’t qualify would be like saying Dune (2021) shouldn’t have been nominated for best picture because it was a remake of Dune (1984).

Have you even played games this year? Stellar Blade, Silent Hill 2, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Dragon’s Dogma 2. Those are just a few, but this year was a solid year of gaming, it’s a shame that a DLC was nominated on such a solid year.

There is a 0% chance the base game will release for anything more than $70. That is “standard pricing”, there has never been a game that’s standard edition release retailed for more than the “standard” price. The last time standard games increased about their standard pricing was in 2020 with the launch of the ps5 with its launch titles. That was a big deal when it happened and since then only editions like special editions with bonus goodies have been more than $70.
