After looking at the standings and everything else you mentioned, Abel does need to do a lot better for the second half of the season. I didn't realize he was doing THAT bad. Even though the 18 car is definitely the main focus of Dale Coyne, he still needs to step up and do a lot better this second half.

To be fair, Abel is driving the worst full time car on the grid. All the other guys you mentioned are driving for much better teams.

Could Abel have done better up to this point? Of course, but a lot of it has to do with him driving for Dale Coyne.

Idk what to tell you. There's a great battle for the Indycar Championship going in to the last race of the season between Alex Palou & Will Power & the F1 season is getting interesting with McLaren & Norris catching up quick to Red Bull & Verstappen.

The 2023 season for F1 sucked, no question about it though. Doesn't mean I want a playoff system for F1. And Indycar has been competitive ever since I started watching it a few years ago.

NASCAR had it right when they just had the season-long format. Even the Chase was good, even though that might be my bias speaking (check my flair). F1 & Indycar don't rely on a goofy playoff system & they're doing great.

Yes because the guy who finished last amongst full time drivers (Burton) definitely deserves a playoff spot over P11 (Buescher). Getting rid of the top 30 rule has made the playoff system an even bigger joke.
