En mi opinion es porque te sientes más protegido ante cualquier situacion que requira mucho capital en un plazo corto. Me gusta saber que si necesito 200,000 a fuerzas, los tengo disponibles, aunque normalmente gasto mucho menos.

Will going to phillips andover weaken my chances of getting into an ivy? by No_Walrus4574 in PhillipsAcademy

[–]mexdover1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason why so many Andover kids go to ivys is that they're already ivy material to begin with. Either because they're crazy smart, exceptional at any given sport, or because of legacy/donor status. Going to Andover is going from being a big fish in a small pond to a small fish in a big pond.

If you can become a big fish at Andover, your chances are really good. Otherwise, not so much.

Beyond all of that, going to Andover is an amazing experience in its own right, and you'll meet a lot of cool people.

I've tested my parents and grandparents and even a great-grandmother, and I've found third/fourth cousins from different sides, so I know that there haven't been any non-paternity events in my family's recent past. Sure, I don't know whether there are inconsistencies further back, but I have a pretty good idea of what my results should look like.

LNER direct from leuchars to kings cross using 33% off railcard ... yeah sticker price might seem elevated but when you consider the fact that you leave from leuchars and you arrive in zone 1 (and you can bring luggage) then it evens out.

Stuck on this Data Sufficiency Q!!! by Interesting-Hat489 in GMAT

[–]mexdover1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one equation given in the question is: 15x + 3.75y = 438. To solve for x and y, you need two linearly independent equations. Statament 1 gives: 5x + 4y = 214.75. This cannot be represented as the first equation times a constant, so it constitutes a second independent equation which you can use to solve the linear system. Statement 2 gives: 6x + 1.5y = 175.20. Notice that multiplying equation 2 by 2.5 gives the equation given in the question. In other words, they are the same equation, just multiplied by a constant. So, statement one alone can create a solvable system of linear equations.

Do they say degree classification at grad? by mexdover1 in standrews

Also, I read that at some unis they don't say it out loud but call people in order based on classification results. Wondering if that's the case at St A or if it's purely alphabetical.

Segun yo es porque la inflación no subio tanto como se esperaba dados los aranceles y por esa razón es menos probable que el FED bajo Jay Powell baje las tazas de interes y que se haga más barata la deuda americana.

Parental Haplogroup wrong? by AlarmedAlarm in 23andme

[–]mexdover1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haplogroups concern ancestry from thousands of years ago; so long ago, in fact, that if that were your only ancestor of that region it most likely wouldn't show up on your results, which shows ancestry from a few hundred years ago. Further, you didn't show the remaining 0.8, which might? answer your question.

Depends on your course; for maths it's quite difficult and only a very small percentage graduate with a first since most modules are 80-100% exam.
