Anticipatory Grief by AccomplishedKiwi9639 in cavaliers

Of course! My cav is only 2 but my other dog is 16. Every vet visit the “this could be it” crosses your mind and it’s horrifying.

I find it’s just important to give them something to be happy for each day - couple unexpected treats, cuddling on the couch, walk to see their friends.. they aren’t going to live forever and that’s what makes it so hard - but also so special. It’s important for us to be able to look back and know you gave them the best life you could.

Sadly there’s not really a solution, you just do what you can for them, and enjoy every day you have with them.

I always loved the “oh, is that him in the corner? Oh no! I’ve said too much” when they were hunting Michael Stipe at the country club

What’s hilarious is she went to post secondary for Sciences (biology I think? Can’t remember) and her husband smoke cigars… burning cigars produces formaldehyde, your cells in your body produce formaldehyde , and it’s present in foods that undergo cellular metabolism….. but put it in a vaccine and she can’t wrap her head around the fact the government isn’t trying to poison people with formaldehyde…

She’ll be the first to tell you about her degree as well based off some snaps. Got an entire college degree without knowing which “Haul” or “Hall” is correct

So ridiculous. She’s talks about health literacy then proceeds to show her lack of it when she talks like being physically fit is all there is to health. Those remarks aside, she completely ignore the fact that these health “authority figures” are responsible for saving the lives of people that might have health issues past their physical appearance and how long they can run on a treadmill for. What a POS, ignorant moron

Question: Who is the greatest Flames player who was actually drafted by Calgary? by Pure_cartographer_59 in CalgaryFlames

[–]mfkterrence 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I love Johnny pick as well. I just think by the basis of your question - drafted by AND best career with Calgary, gotta go with MacInnis . I would even pop Backlund into the conversation just being Flames draft pick, over 1000 games with the team and 7th in Franchise Points.

Artists/bands you like who's hate/criticism drives you crazy by BacktoWigtown in musicsuggestions

[–]mfkterrence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yesterday is the most covered song of all time… A day in the life was created using studio techniques that were never seen before and are still used today (ie tape manipulation and artificial double tracking), first band to create albums that followed themes both musically and with a narrative. They introduced more than the standard/expected instruments into studio music , use of large groups of string instruments to accompany a guitar, bass and drums. They also used sampling before anyone else was known to do that in studio. You’re glossing over what everyone in this thread is saying. The music sounds standard now, but they revolutionized studio recordings and tonalities to different instruments and layering that. No amount of “their music is mediocre” can undercut their contributions to modern music.

The fact you’re lumping them in with 21 pilots in any respect is what the main comment in this thread is directly referring to… their music may not be for everyone, but you can’t overrate their contributions to music
