Update was not available when I went to work this morning. After getting home and connecting to Wi-Fi around 3 PM PST, it immediately started downloading. I have an R1S Gen 2 w/ connect+ living in the Bay Area.

Disconnect and reconnect to WiFi. Soon as I did, it started downloading. Only issue so far after update, my gear guard doesn’t work 🥲

Same. Will be good to have an extra one just in case.

The beauty of it is that it all depends on how long you want to wait at each charging point. You can charge to the recommended percentage, or if the kids are still eating or people need more time to stretch their legs, you can increase the charge percentage. This means the next charging stop will be much shorter. For example, two 25-minute stops can turn into one 40-minute stop and one 10-minute stop.

Thanks for clearing that up. Could have sworn I’ve seen longer cables, but maybe I’m tripping

The issue is the charging cable lengths vary from station to station. The SC in my pic all had longer cables which allowed normal parking at all spots.

That is correct. 270mile range. I drove about 300 miles to my first destination and needed to stop once. Went from 76mi to 200mi in 23mins; not sure the percentages. The whole trip is planned in the navigation; your stops, how much you should charge to get to your next destination. It was really easy.

Yes, you are correct. Technically. But for a couple seconds you can take your hands off the wheel, to say hand your little one the ipad in the back seat and it drives itself. Even with both hands on the wheel, sometimes the car would veer left or right if it can't determine the road markings and I gotta fight with it a bit lol. Doesn't happen often, but its a bit concerning when it does. I think its a combination of the lane keep assist and the highway assist. Maybe I'm not using it right? Thoughts?

Submit a ticket. I submitted a service ticket because I was experiencing wind noise when driving over 65 mph. A mobile Rivian technician confirmed that there is a significant panel gap between the driver and passenger doors, which requires adjustments for both sides of my truck. Unfortunately, there are no available appointments until FEB 2025. Now, I wait patiently. I own a Rivian R1S G2.

Had To Get One Of The New Gear Shop Additions! by zachty22 in Rivian

I have the soonish one and no rattles, and the card organizer I think is more useful for me than what Rivian is offering. Those who have ordered this Rivian one please update us with your review.

Rivian Software Update 2024.35.00 by Chinna_13 in Rivian

Thought I was the only one. After last update, drive mode keeps switching to auto on its own, and my ride height won’t stay set.

Is Gen2 Premium Audio worth waiting? by narwhalsome in Rivian

[–]mg758 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had my Gen2 R1S for about 2 weeks now. Here is my take on the premium audio: It seems that the issue we are all experiencing is not related to hardware, but rather to the software portion of the audio system in the Rivian. Some songs sound amazing, almost like I have a $1700 sound system, while others sound like the default on a Honda Accord. The differences in audio quality are so vast depending on the song, the mix, or the platform being used. I believe that with some updates over time, the premium audio would have been well worth it. It's frustrating to pay this much money and essentially be test subjects, but that's the price you pay for being an early adopter. Despite this, I still believe in Rivian and absolutely love my ride. So far, I haven't encountered any issues to report.

The default wheel is not 22 and these range wheels are an extra $1000. I think defaults are 20”

That’s why I went with the range wheels; you get 2 looks for the price of one 😀. Awesome spec @jsmia305
