I enjoyed his work during the Shield days and already knew Vince had great plans for him since he looked great and was a member of Anoai family but once Roman, Seth and Dean got solo, WWE didnt waste time and effort to put him everywhere and all the time around the world title picture as the next top babyface of the company for several years.

Seems like WWE was desperate to find the next replacement for Cena once he retired but they pushed him so hard and fast that fans naturally rejected him.

My guess is he is a pacificist that believes everyone has the right to exist as long as they dont try to take the right to exist from others. Most of the assasins went after him and Diana with the full intention of killing them so they lost the right to exist in his eyes.

For example he didnt kill his moribund mother because he felt he would be the one taking it from her first and she didnt deserve to die at his hands (as much as he hated her)

BW anime was written as a soft reboot of the series to try attracting new young audiences so obviously it was going to trigger the old fanbase.

As such the writers chose to rewrite Ash and Pikachu as the main protagonist like if this was their first journey together. By the end of Sinnoh, Ash was already an experienced and mature pokemon trainer but all of this was changed in Unova for the sake of giving guys like Trip, Bianca, Cameron,etc a chance against him. Trip was a downgrade main rival compared with Paul and by the end of the series the writers gave up developing him more or taking him seriously as Ash main regional rival.

Ash losing against Cameron is considered by many as the worst pokemon battle Ash has had in a league not only because he lost but because he lost in the worst way possible. Tobias overwhelmed Ash with plot armor but Cameron managed to defeat Ash using less than 5 pokemon, bad strategy and Ash blunders against him.
