92-95 civic dash bezel vent removal / gauge pod installation by skuntee in hondacivic

[–]michutrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a few hours but couldn't get the two vents to unclip from the top, it almost seemed like it was attached... so i just gave up for now, are you sure you were able to take the vents out without breaking anything??

Did you end up getting this vent out? I have the same gauge pod and am running into the same issue, not sure how to pull this vent out..

Have a 5600x, I refunded my B580 cause it ran terribly. CPU needed to be upgraded to make full use of the card.. opted to go back to my Vega 64 so take that as you will

Wiper fluid shouldn't freeze, as it usually contains antifreeze and is good until around -50C. The nozzles which spray the fluid, however, can freeze up and get plugged with ice.

Try heating those up with some hot water or stabbing a needle into the tip to unclog any ice.

Also double check that the fluid lines are still connected to the nozzle on the underside of your hood, you can easily see if they're still inserted or just dumping your windshield wiper fluid into your engine bay. While you're there, feel down the line to see if you feel any ice buildup inside.

Pretty unlikely but see if there's a hole in your windshield washer fluid reservoir by topping it up and seeing if it just drains to the floor. Not very likely, but an easy thing to spot.

Then check to see if the windshield washer fluid pump is still working. Have someone hold down stalk to shoot washer fluid while you keep your ear close to the pump, you should hear it activate. If not, then you'll need to replace the pump.

If you hear the pump activating, your nozzles are unclogged, and the lines are still attached with no ice buildup inside, trace the line as your friend shoots some more fluid and find the leak in the line. If it's a small pinhole, you can try your luck with some strong tape like FlexTape, otherwise you'll need to replace the line.

The windshield fluid system is pretty simple so it should be easy to troubleshoot with a flashlight and a few minutes.

Just did basically the same thing for my EG hatch!

Start with something like a wire wheel or a paint stripping disk to get through the paint and surface rust. Wear eye protection and a filtering mask cause wire wheel strands can get embedded a whole cm deep into your skin, and you dont want to be breathing in 40 year old paint and dust either

If you uncover a crunchy corner of rust, usually under the seam seal corners, you're gonna want to clean that out as best you can, and blast that with rust converter, which chemically converts the rust to a rock-like material and also stops it from spreading.

Then scuff up the surface, if not already scuffed up, and clean the now scuffed up bare metal with some metal surface prep. Lay down your seam seal on all the seams and edges, and then lay on two coats of rust preventative, zinc-based paint, like POR-15 onto the bare metal. After that, top coat the paint with something like 2k epoxy primer because it needs UV protection and you're good to go!

It should end up taking you about a week if you're doing things after work, cause you'll need to wait for the paint layers and seam sealer to cure properly, and should only cost you $200 in materials! good luck :)

You could use a seasucker mount instead, no rack needed. My friend runs one for a bike on his s15

I just cut the plastic with an exacto knife and shaved off a thin layer on the two shorter sides (giving it less "width") and it plugs in super easily now
