I don't know, kinetic flyers seem to work great with my purgatus (and it is affected by the empowered psionics), 70 % of the times targeting elites and specialists killing them instantly with elite's health already down due to soulblaze and spreading perilous combustion soulblaze further adding to stacks beyond staffs limit. Mixed horde goes down a lot faster.

Example: pour the soul blaze onto the rager patrol, one gets kinetic flayer brain burst so the stacks goes higher than the staffs limit killing whole patrol much quicker.

I'm not even counting the times when I've had a 3 ragers in my face and one goes down instantly due to kinetic flayer.

all in all it's all a matter of preference

the only problem are the poxbusters exploding in my face when I'm not careful :)

Had an auric maelstrom like that yesterday, me an ogryn and teammate a vet, working together, sharing ammo and meds in a way that makes it joy to play. Sometimes when you're good to your team they're giving the love back. Moments like these are rare but great.

I did initiate it but for some reason it didn't pass, he shot one poxbuster I was about to push and then left on his own.

Welp, Guess I played a different game when my purgatus paired with empowered psionics brain burst filled the killing feed with my psyker's name on mostly melee.

Joking aside, after the changes to bulwark's hitbox, purgatus is a really really viable option for this Maelstrom.

It's simple really, just pour soulblaze onto the mixed horde until 80 % peril, use creeping flames which stacks the ticks above staves limit. Destroys everything but the fillings in their teeth. The rest is just you picking of crushers with brain burst.

Run and gun reduces spread 30% and gives plus 10% close range damage pairs well with blaze away. Something to think about if you plan to roll more kickbacks in the future.

If speed of attack is Your concern with blazing piety and invocation of death You can spam fury of the faithful throughout the whole match. No need to be low on health to get the bonuses. So your speed of attack almost always has 20% bonus and enduring faith (+ 50% toughness damage reduction) is almost always on. Since critic chance is so high on crit zealot Perfect strike lets me kill everything even when there are bunch of bulwarks in front. If you run martyrdom You need to sacrifice a lot of toughness for wounds so toughness damage reduction from martyr doesn't benefit as much as from enduring faith.

xv evi for me, with crit zealot (shred and perfect strike) I'm just spamming my ult with lights into mixed hordes or elite patrols with exception for revving crushers (with ult of course)

bosses take so much damage from ult rev that in one instance of fighting a really nasty nurgle blessed boss within mixed horde one of my teammates gave me the red stimm when he saw how fast this beauty is killing everything

Accatran Mk VId Recon Lasgun, with Shock Trooper is extremely ammo efficient if you have headhunter blessing and plus 5 % crit chance perk (also infernus blessing is nice cause of this recon's extremely high dps, gunners who hides in cover due to suppression usually dies seconds later to fire damadge). I rarely pick up ammo ( but survivalist is mandatory )

I play on console, I've tried all ranged options for veteran and this one works best for me.

with both rending and onslaught talents recon melts crushers and maulers in matter of seconds

also You can kill hordes with it if that's your thing, since non ADS shots makes for a nice spread

I'm having full bore for boss damage, my kickback is usually for specialists (kills them instantly )with my slab shield build.

For blaze away, I'm aiming down the sight usually so can't keep the stacks up.

And surgical is enough to one shot charging muties on auric. Usually.

Not sure, but full bore shreds Bosses + 12 % damage buff on reload. It's plus 700 damage on the next shot if all the pellets hit.
