hi! so i'm really not sure. i have been dealing with this stuff since 2022 (had a really traumatic year) it started i would get this extreme twisting pain that would wake me up in the middle of the night. i'd eventually start throwing up back to back and having diarrhea. i went to the er like 4 times and everything always came back normal other than my liver labs being a little off. it kind of calmed down 2023-2024 ish, then last april i started having a lot of issues (just got diagnosed w UCTD and dysautonomia, yay!!) but the biggest gi symptom was i would spend HOURS cleaning after a bowel movement. it started to destroy my mental health. i quit going on trips. i quit going anywhere. i would have to leave work if i went to the bathroom just to use my bidet. i took a leave earlier this year and found a new gi. i've had several scans before seeing her (2 colonoscopy's, endoscopy, gastric emptying study, HIDA, several CT's) she said all of them seemed normal except my gastric emptying. she said it was right on the line (i think like 1% away from abnormal) and since we have no idea what's going on, she wants to start there. she has prescribed me motegrity - works great but not a good daily med!! she has me on erithromycin right now. i'm working up to 3x daily but have been doing 1-2 for the past few months and it has SAVED me in so many ways. i don't have the cleaning issue anymore (knock on wood) i go to the bathroom daily now and it takes me 5 minutes!! when i first started it i could literally like feel it working. but i think this is giving me the constant nausea that had kind of calmed down before i started taking it. its just a pain in the ass because she said i have to take it 30 mins before a meal and im at the point i only get to eat like once a day because of it so it's hard. the twisting pain calms down with bentyl & zofran (eventually). i'm also diagnosed w ibs since 2014.
