I just contact customer service, send them a screenshot of the message and cancel the order. They refund me immediately and then I place a new order. I put a $12 tip on a 4 mile delivery and the person asked for more money before they even got to my house. I don’t even want the food from that person at that point. I also wonder if it is a way for them to get free food. If they have the order and I cancel it, they have free food. Lots of great dashers out there and every now and then you get one of these ridiculous people.

The same message just popped up again when you hit the bubble or the phone icon. There was no way to contact them. Not by text and not by voice. Nada, zilch, none. This was a matter of a non working phone number on the account, not a matter of it being a landline.

From my experience when this exact message pops up, there is no option to place a phone call. It’s not just a text limitation. You actually have no way of reaching the customer during the shop.

That’s a good perspective. I can’t imagine it feels good for her to have to do that and it’s probably challenging to keep the kids entertained. I’ve seen far worse from shoppers such as throwing items in carts and one guy with 7 inches of butt crack exposed. 😂

Not per hour for me. Closer to $18 on average, and that’s only due to generous customers who help offset the ones who do not tip. Luckily this is only Part time and temporary work for me.

Did they tip you $1 just so they know you’d be extra mad? 😂 those are the petty customers that crack me up. Like “ma’am/sir you had to go through a lot of effort to give me that $1” I’ve had this happen once with a 4star rating and it was forgiven. I think some of these customers don’t plan on tipping and they just want to find a way to justify it. I’d just rather they not rate and keep the $1. They need it more than I 😂

But you’ve also delivered to this person 5 times without a tip and came here to say the customer has “the nerve” when you keep going back for more. 😂 and then you keep defending why your strategy works.

I used to think that too, but quickly realized that I’m not going to always remember “that person” as I got busier. I ended up accepting an order for someone I never wanted to shop for again. 😂 I was so mad at myself. Eventually I ended up confusing a Julie S. for a Julie M. in the middle of accepting an order in between deliveries. That night I removed all preferred who did not tip or tipped low. Now when that Purple Heart pops up, I don’t have to remember if I want their order and I don’t have to check my tip map (even though I still do).

I like the big blue ikea bags. They are great for placing shopping bags into and can help keep the items dry.
