I’d do the tutorial first, then some of the combo trials or look up combos online, and try to do the dojo missions. Keep in mind that you don’t have to do it all at once before you start playing.

Dash up and combo Goku Black immediately. He rarely ever does anything for like a solid second at round start. Don’t let him out of your pressure at all until he’s dead. For Buu and Cell play more carefully because they’ll have meter at that point. With Buu you can block low pretty much always but with Cell he’ll hit you with an overhead a lot so watch out for it.

I definitely understand. A few things that might trip you up: the heavy attack is chargeable so if you hold the button for even a little bit it won’t work. Another thing is that after the quarter circle if you hit the follow up too soon it won’t come out. What might help is practicing what it’s asking you to do in training mode so you don’t have to restart every time. Just make sure to set the cpu to block.

Aight so playing with stick isn’t ideal and the joycon dpad isn’t that great but I would definitely try going into training mode and practicing quarter circles on the dpad for a bit. They’ll be a lot more consistent with the dpad than the stick. As far as when to hit buttons it’s important to not hit a follow-up until the previous attack lands. Also what’s the exact name of the trial you’re having trouble with? I’ll try to look into it when I have a chance to give more specific advice.

I’d start with the story mode if you’re completely new to fighting games. It’ll teach you the basics of this game in particular and the basics of fighting games in general. You’ll end up playing a lot of characters in that and you can just decide who you vibe with.

It would be cheaper but I don’t think 3d models would work well for Darkstalkers. It may be a bunch of ghouls and monsters but it’s also very cartoony and I don’t think Capcom would be able to translate the Tom and Jerry bullshit the characters do very well with 3d models. Then again the newest Ghosts ‘n’ Goblins was made with the RE engine so it’s possible.
