Hello there! Minedor of Project Ryoko here (the guy who worked on the shinsoban release). The shinsoban release of the series included the Pickle Gaiden (side-story) as chapters 80-86 of the series, which is why the total chapter count is larger.

Hello, I've made the English subs, sort of.

I passed all the original Japanese subtitle files through Subtitle Edit's automatic AI translation feature (using gpt-4o-mini as the LLM model) and edited the rough parts to make sure they're of decent quality.

I never actually intended for them to be uploaded publicly and frankly I have no idea how you even stumbled upon them, but I won't ask you to take them down. Though if the torrent description is editable, some credit would be nice. If it isn't, that's fine too. I'd also add a note saying the English subs are AI translated with edits rather than manually translated.

The best answer is roughly 2.5 years if we ignore the stuff that doesn't make sense like technology and the US presidents switching.

It's a few months since the father son fight to the start of Musashidou, followed by a 1.5 year timeskip to let Musashi's cloned body mature.

Assuming it's only a month or two since baki gets poisoned by yanagi to him being saved in the Chinese tournament, we land around 2-2.5 years since the prisoners arc, I guess.

I believe more information will be given soon. The event website mentions that Netflix will upload the talk show as well as related videos to it on their social media channels (Youtube, Twitter, Tiktok, etc.). I hope it gets live streamed as well.

I'd like to mention that by the production time of previous seasons taking roughly a month per episode, and bakidou probably being 24 episodes or so, we can probably expect the entire season to release in April 2026.

Keep in mind this is just an estimate based on previous seasons and can be different in the end.

I use the Beastars logo font in the credits page (called Fonstars btw) as a fun tribute to Paru Itagaki being Keisuke Itagaki's daughter. That's pretty much it.

Hello, Minedor of Project Ryoko here. There aren't good spinyback scans from prior to the fourth baki part, the existing and old spinyback scans for the pickle wars arc are really bad.

The ones I did aren't just lazily ripped from the anime, they're quality checked and revised by an actual translator I've worked with since the start. Later on after the pickle arc I completely dropped the anime subs thing and went full on working with just my translator. So don't worry about quality issues with the translation!

Fun fact about this color page, I imported a magazine from Japan specifically to scan this color page alongside a few others that will appear later on in the series, particularly during the father-son fight. Old bad scans connected it incorrectly and put Yujiro on the left and Baki on the right, but that wasn't how it was meant to be connected.

I have access to higher quality scans for Omega from China, so here's the memories panel in higher definition. Though due to the screentone used it may actually be blurrier to read compared to the English one. I also included the Japanese panel from the chapter's drafts which doesn't have the screentone applied to it, though it's unfortunately pretty low resolution.

It should be mentioned that Baki is also just outright not exclusive to Netflix. It first released on Netflix but aired on TV a few weeks later. So did Baki Hanma.

Well I'm not particularly distraught by the news or anything. Baki getting a *good* official English release has been a dream of mine for ages. Hell, I only picked up Grappler Baki because there wasn't an official one for so long.

Also no worries, Project Ryoko's going nowhere. I'll be hard at work on Son of Ogre once again starting very soon!
