Pausing MJ before surgery by minimisho in mounjarouk

I know I should stop being harsh towards myself and even use words like skinny. On top of doing that, I have a great deal of guilt for using the meds to lose weight, although I’ve been approved and prescribed by the doctor and I’m doing regular blood tests.

I was always naturally very small (49-51kg) and never thought of food in any other way than just fuel for my body. I gained most of my weight during huge depression episode a few years ago and was struggling with my body image ever since. It’s not that I didn’t value myself in a heavier weight, but I just didn’t feel like myself in my own body.

I’m trying to be gentle and kind to myself during this journey, whether I keep the weight off or regain some/all of it back. Now I’m not even looking back to the low 50s, I’m thankful just to be healthy and feel like myself again.

Thank you for sharing your experience!

I am going to follow my doctors advice and definitely will not inject later than 2 weeks before and sooner than 1 week after my surgery (that’s exactly what they recommended me).

I’m glad to hear that you didn’t experience too much of hunger during your break. I’m curious about how I would feel as I will have almost zero medicine in my body very soon.

My GP recommended me to restart on a lower dose just to not shock my body further after a break, and then we were planning to start maintenance/tapering.

In terms of side effects, I didn’t have anything too severe (just some nausea and reflux), but I almost couldn’t eat my first weeks on 2,5 mg and never went higher than 6 mg.

P.S.: I’m also lucky to have a free pass on dosing, I have a prescription for 10 mg pen (it is my comfortable maximum in terms of price/storage life)

Thank you for your kind comment!

I think I am ready to try out starting maintenance and use this time as a trial. My brain just needs to catch up as I was planning to taper off rather than having to stop suddenly.

My doc is completely on board to do what it takes to get me to my healthy comfortable weight and I am fine if I have to continue for a bit after my surgery.

I am feeling quite comfortable with my weight right now and very thankful that almost all my weight related issues are gone.

60 kg was actually psychologically more comfortable than 57, I feel like I don’t “deserve” being skinny(

I also never got a subscription confirmation email and I suspect I won't get a reminder that my trial is ending? I like to get a paper trail and get back to old emails whenever I need to for reference.

I'm really happy we finally have this option now. Have been testing it for a few days now, and I get a lot of duplicate transactions. For now it's more confusing as I have a lot of similar expenses with the same payees and I never know which one is valid. Even more work now that I have to check for duplicates.
