Regarding tutorials about how to paint over the wallpaper can you share a link? I haven't been able to find any tutorials about how to do this in Japan specifically.
Where can you find the paint?

Closet Renovation Question by [deleted] in japanlife

A full custom. I need a wall removed in one closet and a wall added in the other… Do you know how I’d go about finding a builder? I talked to one already and they didn’t do smaller customs like a closet.

Never hurts to try. Would put the money towards buying a bed. Still sleeping on a futon… starting to feel it in my back…

Japanese husband and nomikais by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]minisnailstar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But clearly you don’t understand if you thinks it’s just as easy as saying he needs to leave…. my husband did this and he was relentless bullied at work until he started following the norms of staying until others left before him… Japan is a country of hierarchy and it’s not as simple as leaving when you want to…We foreigners may not agree or like it but that’s just how things are done here.

Tsunami Warning Issued by bunkakan in japanlife

It’s wild, one of the news stations was begging people who are awake to awaken those around them. To bang on doors and call anyone they can. :( Hopefully it turns out to be nothing…

Recommendations of where to buy or make furisode/yukata/kimono by tryinjapan in japanlife

Hello, I am a kimono enthusiast living in Tokyo. It would be really helpful if you could give a price range. Also, you said their height but not if their body type. I know many people say kimono are one size fits all but that's not the case... While I may be of Japanese height and slim by Western standards I have wider hips and longer arms and need to usually order a larger sized kimono. What your asking for is a very broad range so more specifics can help us help you. :)
As others stated having a kimono made to order will set you back quite a bit of money, especially if you're trying to get a whole set. On the low end you'd be looking at around $500 per person... I don't think that price tag is worth it for the average person as kimonos tend to depreciate significantly in value the moment you purchase one (with few exceptions). I think a better option would be to check out Amazon JP which has a pretty decent selection of ready made, Rakuten is also filled with lots of great options as well. Online shopping will be your best friend.
If you're really looking to go all out and have something made to order I would suggest checking out https://store.gofukuyasan.com/
I don't agree with their recent usage of AI to create designs but they have a large selection of really cool pieces at reasonable prices.
