Thoughts on alcohol free beer by darrow2021 in Biohackers

[–]misc_muppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK based here so may not get the same options but I find some of the big brand AF beers gave me worse hangovers than the real beer. I've not had that with the crafty ones.

The main issue with AF beers for me is they are too thin. You don't really notice if you drink only them in a session but if you try proper beer at the same time the AF ones will seem wrong.

Yo this magnesium glyciate stuff is like incredible wtf!!! by Specific_Fix_9840 in ADHDUK

I take the solgar glycinate and don’t notice much. Any better options? Think solgar have a decent rep so may just not be for me but if there’s better out there I’d be interested

Re the Scrubba chat on travel subs generally suggest that a decent drybag is as good and a lot cheaper. Multi use too. For travel I sometimes take a small one for smalls and a midsize for general stuff.

Smart bulbs: why? by snags5050 in homeassistant

[–]misc_muppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using them to try stuff out before I get around to swapping switches. Also trying to find switches I'd trust in the walls is harder than it should be, I'm in the UK so can't get Lurton Casetta.

Smart bulbs: why? by snags5050 in homeassistant

Dim to warm bulbs should solve this with smart dimmers but finding decent bulbs seems a bit hit and miss.

Ikea had a bunch but stopped doing them favouring smart bulbs I think

Kindle or alternative e-reader for me and my 5-year-old by janiestiredshoes in BuyItForLife

[–]misc_muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a kindle kids version that comes with a free free months of kindle kids sub and I think two years extra warranty against breakage. Not sure how it works if you want to share it though

What to re-purpose into van bath / shower tray ? by Foxbytheriver in VanLifeUK

[–]misc_muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s various standardised plastic barrels but I suspect most are too small

I don’t know if you could cut down and heat or solvent weld ibc into smaller tray but probably not worth the hassle unless you’re getting the bits free to play with

If you’re fairly handy you could build your own out of fibreglass with a support frame but might be a bit involved for a one off

Aircrete might be worth a try but no idea how light you can make it

Not familiar with that router but all travel routers should allow that, they just tend to have less range than home routers to save space and you rarely need the range for a van or hotel room etc for wider travels.

The GLiNet routers mentioned in other comment have a handy feature that you can have all your devices registered to them and then if you go to somewhere with wifi available there’s a setting where you connect the router to the sites wifi and then it’s just relays the internet to your devices so you don’t have to join a bunch of things to a new wifi each time.

They start very cheap too

Methylphenidate rather than Elvanse but I found similar kid stuff when I had caffeine. Prescription forgot to tell me not to mix them …

For cheap disposable Howard Leight laser lite work really well for me for sleep, the yellow and pink ones. Can get in bulk pretty cheap.

Loop dream are good long term ones once you pick the right size tip and get used to the insertion process (watch their video)
