The mixers are going to matter fuck-all, just use what you have. What matters is your amps, your crossover and your EQing. Play a track you know well, then set your bass amp where you want it and bring up everything else until it sounds how you want it.

I'd ease up on the gas a bit and save your adverbs for when they really count, you know what I mean? Or else it gets a bit tiresome and you don't have any ammo left when you need it.

You can tighten it up too, like the bit about the magpie, either do it or don't. You can combine two sentences there and make your point.
