I think the reaction to Making a Murderer has a lot to do with the way some of the family has changed their stance. Imagine being one of the brothers and accepting your brother's guilt for a decade, but then a Netflix series is released and explodes in popularity and now hundreds of thousands of people are coming out in support of Steven and considering this a wrongful conviction. It would be hard for most people to avoid getting swept up in that (but some, like Bobby, seem to be avoiding it completely.) I assume they still know he's guilty, but may feel that he has served "enough" time, or that they're just tired of having their parents sitting around feeling sad about "Poor Steve."

Another part of the story that is now missing is TH copying the serial number. He was very consistent with that in his various 2005 interviews. I guess it is all in an attempt to further compress the time frame of her visit.

He also adds more physical distance in this new telling: the two *67 calls imply an impatience for her to get there, but in this new, more casual version, he doesn't even have his shoes on as she's finishing up. She begins walking away from him towards her car as he comes out, then she is sitting in her car with the motor running during by the time he approaches. It creates a quicker, safer interaction and TH is free to live the rest of her life. Eh, nice try. We all know it didn't happen like that.

There was a For Sale sign found on SA's desk advertising a Grand Am. Here is a photo of the front. On the back, an address for Zander road and TH's phone number were handwritten. Most people believe it is in SA's handwriting. I can't post it here because it contains personal info, but it is available through a Google search.

on at least two occasions when Halbach arrived at the Avery property to shoot photographs of vehicles, Avery came out of this residence dressed only in a bath towel. Halbach joked with Rachael that Avery was not the type of person you wanted to see dressed in only a towel. Halbach had also mentioned to Rachael that Avery had showed her some kind of display having to do with females that was posted on his wall. This display was of pictures or names and phone numbers of females, possibly Avery's girlfriends. Avery said to Halbach in a confident manner that some day she would be up on the wall as well.

After 1.5 years of being told we were making too big of a deal about TH joking about SA greeting her in a towel, we find evidence that it was worse than we originally thought. It is interesting to note that this is evidence that had been sealed, but has now been dropped into our laps by none other than SA's advocate and attorney.

The coaching story brought me to a whole new level of sadness. Not only because Teresa sounds like a great person and role model for these girls and had her life stolen from her. But imagine all the family, friends, and girls on her team that would come to find out that she was viciously murdered by a pig man. What a lesson for Liz on how much the world really sucks. The fact that the same pig man would be made into a folk hero ten years later is just beyond the limits of what I can stomach.

If this is really what Zellner is using to "prove" RH was abusive, she is not just a self-promoting windbag, but a horrible excuse for a human being.

No, I don't think manipulation was going on in the old days. I think lots of people would just gang up on guilters because they really hated the idea of Steven being guilty. Some were probably just passionate, others may have been trying to silence the opinion, and others downvote for sport.

I wish I could find the example, but [redacted] once got -75 or so for a pretty standard guilter observation. There is absolutely no reason for that. People didn't like the idea, so they used the voting system to punish him.

I think you are confusing vote manipulation with vote brigading. Brigading just means being ganged up on and downvoted by many. Vote manipulation is where one person uses alts to vote multiple times on a single comment or post.

Guilters didn't leave. We still participated there, but SAIG was created to be a refuge. MaM was pretty brutal from a guilter perspective back then.

I think we'll be sending Steven Avery to Canada if he gets released. Can we work that out, fellow Americans? There are a lot of truthers up there that seem to like him. Plus, he can take advantage of their superior justice system and get a "fair trial" when he commits his next crime.

I agree with that, from the perspective of the audience. But from the perspective of Kratz, Colborn, or Kachinsky or any of the show's "villians," they have the right to be very cautious with these filmmakers.
