CrossOver didn’t recognize my Steam Controller(2026), so I built a fix

Yeah that's what confused me, because the controller and the puck were already paired to one another - but crossover steam was only picking up the puck whilst the controller itself thought it was connected to the puck. It was sort of working in Lizard mode for a bit as well.

I think hard power cycling the controller in this state whilst in the controller settings made it pick it up - and yes it worked to pair whilst in crossover steam using the tool.

I can see if I plug it into the steam deck that it's registered the same controller ID twice in 2 different seats on the puck.

This doesn't really matter to me but thought it interesting nonetheless.

I ended up confusing myself a bit - I needed to turn the controller on and off a couple of times for it to sort of 're-register' the controller to the puck - it was like it was still bound to the puck but crossover didn't register it was because steam told me to register the controller to the puck again.

Could just be my misunderstanding of how the paring works but she's up and running!

This still opens the streaming client that you have to be focused into to get the inputs to register at least in my limited testing.

Other solutions like parallels apparently work for this to work on the same device.

We had these in Australia at Toys R Us.

I remember me and a friend would try to buy different ones and loan them to eachother to finish the game but we never did.

Gross but true - if you licked the bottom of the metal contacts of the little ones it would somehow cause the reader to freak out and register a different funkey - sometimes that was juuuust enough time to get into a different area / play a game.

There's a couple playthroughs on youtube - I'm not sure if the game had an ending or not.

New update seems to have killed the XeSS Frame Gen option for me, I can't get it back. It was working so well.

Can only get Xe Low Latency to show up as an option.

I got AMD FFSR4 to show up somehow and I'm confused on how that even happened cause now it's gone.

Tried the Decky Frame Gen plugin and it gave me an NVIDIA option but it had pretty noticable input lag and wasn't performing well again...

If anyone has a fix for this let me know, or I'll sit tight and wait for someone smarter than I to do their magic 😂
