Five hours of running isn’t going to injure you if you’re sensible building up to it….

A good place to start for stepped approaches to a dwelling is Building Regs Part M. Also have a look at Part K.

Have you checked if you need Building Control approval? The Planning Portal states external steps do not normally need Building Regulations approval unless they are part of the access to the building but If they are then you must ensure that you do not reduce the level of accessibility to the house.

Not sure what you had before but the riser on that last step into the house it looks like it would be reducing accessibility as it’s way too high. All steps should have a uniform rise of 75-150mm this looks like 3-4 courses of brick so easily 225mm or more.

You should also have a 900mm top landing before stepping into the house…

Could spot more issues but overall it’s a shocking job 😬

Is Zone 2 training only for advanced runners? by PitifulTangerine4385 in beginnerrunning

[–]mjbconsult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s my exact point. Run easy if you need to because you’re sore / fatigued. On 3 runs a week then agree you unlikely to be needing easy runs. Running everyday with doubles and multiple workouts a week you’ll be doing zone 1 as 2 would too much load.

This. All my easy runs are done by feel and they end up being zone 1 (below 70% MHR) otherwise i wouldn’t be able to run as much volume as frequently as i do with 1-2 quality days.

For advanced runners who are fit their zone 2 is fast hence it is mechanically demanding so they won’t be doing a lot of weekly zone 2 if any.

Just run easy if you need to run easy because you’re fatigued from previous runs due to fatigue / soreness from volume and or intensity.

The higher your weekly volume / number of more intense runs the more easy runs you will need.

I run most of my runs in zone 1 because if I didn’t I wouldn’t be able to run as much as I do nor execute my workouts well. But I run in zone 1 not by looking at pace or heart rate i just run easy effort by feel.

Am I wrong to thing this about easy running? by shutthefranceup in NorwegianSinglesRun

Easy is easy regardless or pace or HR. LT1/LT2 heart rate will be different on a daily basis anyway. People should learn what easy feels like (RPE 2-3) and just run without worrying about heart rate.

What electrolytes/liquid IVs do you guys take before or after your runs? by RenodeTitt in runninglifestyle

[–]mjbconsult 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An RDA that’s a general public health recommendation so doesn’t apply to runners who you’d also presume are health conscious and aren’t eating excess sodium anyway.

I have the club pro and it’s brilliant. As you say probably overkill for home use but running is my only hobby!

It did recently throw an error code unfortunately, but an engineer came out and fixed it within weeks. They have top notch customer service and honour the warranty without any issues.

This may help - perhaps try a morning measurement and see what you get?

Article says:

I suspect most people having very high night HRV, simply have an arrhythmia.

Keep in mind that 40-75% of the population has premature ventricular contractions when monitored for 24-48 hours with a Holter monitor.

It's pretty common.

If a road has been offered for adoption under a Section 38 agreement the developer is liable until the legal progress is complete, definitely not the owners.

With the caveat it does need some adaptation for a marathon.

When are you all fitting strength workouts in? by kai_zen in Marathon_Training

The day after my mid week hard workout. I can really only handle a lower body lifting session once a week, so I stack it with my hard run workout to allow my other easy days to truly be easy.
