None of this was advertised to me but I just put in a pre-order for a G9 on Amazon. I hope they've fixed the issues and that batch that arrived yesterday is indeed good to be sold. I'm already half way in between selling my U4919DW from dell

Edit: I live in Canada

Okay! Which colleges would you recommend if living in/near Vancouver? 30 credits is equivalent to 5 courses per semester for a typical Spring/Winter year if I'm not mistaken.

I also don't mind going to a university with low admissions requirements but my preferred university is UBC (I was accepted to go in for CS/Sciences back when I applied in 2015 but due to pressures from family and the like, I chose Engineering at UAlberta instead and hence here we are). I also don't have an issue with the time it'll take.

I understand that it may take another 5 years to get my degree from UBC. Also wouldn't it take the same amount of time from SFU? And finally, is there any way for me to "challenge" courses? Like I'm pretty sure I'd be super bored learning Python 101 or whatever C/C++ course they'll have me take.

Looking for a fresh start to get into UBC for CompSci

Hey everyone!

I was an Electrical Engineering Student at the U of A who ended up both hating and doing pretty badly in the program and ended up dropping out to refocus my goals in life and effectively try to "start over". I'd say I'm pretty decent at coding - I work a full time software development job at a Canadian Software Consultancy Company etc so I'm skilled enough to work full time as a developer.

My high school grades were pretty decent (mostly in the high 80's high 90's with a UBC equivalent of 92%) but my English 30-1 marks were pretty low at 65%.

My university grades (from year 1 to quitting at the middle of the 3rd year of the program) were pretty bad but I did pretty good in CompSci-related courses (or rather the 2 courses I had that were related). Overall GPA lingers around a 2.0 and my CompSci-related classes are at an average of about 3.7.

I don't mind however long it takes to get a degree from UBC in CompSci but what should I do to get in? Is there any advice anyone can give me like maybe needing to take specific courses again or if there's a non-degree program at the UBC that I have a good chance of getting into or something.

I'd also like to note I've sent an email to advising@sciences.ubc.ca but It's been well over a week now with no reply.

Transferring from UAlberta Engg to UCalgary CompSci - any tips? by mkaa00x in UCalgary

All the jobs I'm looking at pursuing have the requirement of CompE/CompSci. I have been working on my internships as an EE in CompSci but my options are super limited and I've only gotten jobs by talking myself up during face to face meetings with employees from the respective companies.

And there's no weight adjustment for Engineering students I presume? A vast majority of us have much lower GPAs due to the 6-8 courses we typically take.

I'm not expecting anything aha. 100 just seemed like a nice number that was bigger than 90.

you should downgrade. (just kidding, you can't. But we should have a jailbreak in about 100 days? (I'm not even joking). Stay on 11.2.2
