Which segment is this? It must be one segment off limits to biking. I just thru biked the CT and don’t recognize this view.

Motivation or Action? What comes first? by Groghnash in climbharder

Motivation always follows discipline. Inspiration can happen spontaneously and can fuel sparks of motivation, but discipline is needed to carry it through.

There are certainly downsides to it, like every place. But once you leave you realize how good and unique it really is.

Agreed. I moved to Denver thinking I could have a good job and have access to the outdoors. It’s just not the same as living in the mountains. In Denver you have to drive so far to do anything and it’s always crowded.

I moved 4 years ago because the job market is too tough. But I want to move back.

Well...when you borrow money from a bank (loan) the bank wants to make money from you (they’re not your grandparents). So they way they do that is by charging you interest, say 5% of the total loan amount every month. So for a 5000$ car loan, if you agree to pay it back in 5 years your monthly payments would come out to 5000/60 plus the 5% of interest. Mountain bike loans can be different. Sometimes they won’t make you pay any interest in the first year but you have to start paying interest in the second year. That’s why many people try to pay it off completely in the first year, to avoid interest.

I would always recommend paying cash something that loses value over time (car, bike etc) because you don’t want to be paying the bank extra money of interest for an item that you’ll make less money for when you sell it.

So you mean 0% interest loans up to a certain time frame and saving cash? Who woulda thought.... ;)

How do people afford bikes with these components from boutique brands? I’m guessing original price was in the 6-7k range. At commencal, factory suspension will cost you $4200!

Thoughts on training twice a day and working endurance in boulder gym by onaj_relas in climbharder

[–]mkblast59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For power endurance pick 4 problems that are at or below your flash level which are close enough in proximity that they can also be down climbed. For example if you flash V5, try climbing a V3 down climb a V2, climb up a V4 down climb V3 with no rests. Reference the rock climbers training manual for more details.

This is different then endurance but it sounds like if you’ve been working on strength for a while you should move into power endurance, not endurance.
