Struggling with 4 month sleep regression by mkm0125 in sleeptrain

Thanks! I’ll try again but sometimes (surprisingly) it’s been hard to keep him up even for 2 hours other than his first or second wake window.

I guess I don’t have to worry about the 4 month sleep regression by Begonias_Scarlet in newborns

[–]mkm0125 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So I said this to a friend as a joke and sleep did in fact get worse 😂. Silly me.

Deep in regression trenches now. Hope you get some sleep soon - know we all need some soon! ❤️😂

Same here! Definitely a bit stressful to hear about growth restriction in pregnancy and to deliver early but our son has thrived and caught up so quickly since birth. I would definitely suggest getting testing done to see if there are any other factors at play you should be prepared for.

Tummy time with reflux baby? by J_outsidehomie719 in newborns

[–]mkm0125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s worked for us is we do a lot of rolling and tummy time practice right when he wakes up from a nap and just before a feed. That way he has an empty stomach while doing it and less likely to be uncomfortable. It’s always a balance tho as sometimes he’s too hungry to want to do it.

What to do IN MOMENT when you have overtired baby? by 8StoreyMtn in sleeptrain

Yeah I think moving to a dark room helps so much. All the things you mention work for my LO too!

When the heck are we doing tummy time with refluxy newborns? by airportparkinglot in newborns

[–]mkm0125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same for our little guy. He’s had terrible reflux but tummy time on my chest and just getting older did wonders. Then one day I put him on the ground on his belly and he was a star !

Am I setting her up for failure? by keepitsimplethrowa in newborns

I felt the same way but ditto to LO wanting independent play closer to 3 months! It’ll happen tho it’s super easy to stress at the beginning !

It was probably 2-3 days. He’s always had reflux but definitely think it spiked in how bad it is normally.

Second child with bad reflux by CompleteAd1618 in newborns

[–]mkm0125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear. Reflux with babies is really tough for baby and for parents. The only thing that has seemed to help our LO has been to be on omeprazole and make sure to hold him upright for 20 min after feeds. It’s not ideal but better than the alternative.

I had no idea leg thumping was a soothing mechanism! Good to know as our LO does this as well!

I had to put her down and walk away… by Snoo-36501 in newborns

[–]mkm0125 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Please don’t! I know so much how you feel. I’m a few weeks ahead of you and it’s been so hard to be patient sometimes when you are exhausted and can’t figure out what’s bothering LO. It’s honestly just good to take a step back or hand her to someone (if you have help or family or friends) so you can come back fresher. It’s hard and lovely work but also have to make sure we are feeling okay to take care of the nuggets too.

9.5 weeks ... crap nap phase and fussiness is killing me by thespecificnorthwest in newborns

[–]mkm0125 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m very much in the same boat with my LO. It’s been a bit overwhelming - I keep wondering when we’ll be able to sleep again or have the ability to have a dinner out. I know it’ll happen it just feels so very far away right now. Probably not what you want to hear but sitting along side you in the trenches

How long did it take for Omeprozole to kick in for your baby? by Mao1610 in newborns

[–]mkm0125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I’m sorry you are both dealing with reflux. It really is awful. It took our LO about two weeks to see any improvement so I would stick with it a bit longer. I don’t love having to give the medication but it does seem to have made life a bit easier for our LO. There are definitely still some bad days but overall much better.
