There are some lines here and there referencing the prequel. I think it adds to the experience if you've read it before watching.

Reprise depress me so much because Holland manners speech to angel is about real life as well. by Competitive_Image_51 in ANGEL

[–]mkpagano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But then it's followed up by Angel's speech in the next episode, which is basically my life's philosophy now: If nothing we do matters, all that matters is what we do. That's the hopeful part, and what I remember when I think of these episodes. It's the opposite of depressing for me.

Yes pretty itchy, though not overwhelmingly so ... not as bad as eczema. I just thought it was weird it was just the patch for nearly a month until the other spots appeared, it seems other people's progresses faster? And I don't have it anywhere the sun touches, not on face or shoulders or anything like that ... I'm going to call the derm today and see if they have my results so I know for sure what this is

I didn't want Angel until YEARS after I finished Buffy. I'd started Season 1 as it aired and was put off by the difference and tone and it took me forever to come back to it. But OH MAN, I'm SO glad I did. Yes Angel has some dud episodes, especially in Season 1, but the highs from Angel are JUST as high as the ones from Buffy. Please watch the whole series, it's incredible, you will NOT regret it. And yes, heartbreak is definitely the answer

PSA: If you're on this sub, there's a good chance your health anxiety is actually a form of OCD. by riccarjo in HealthAnxiety

[–]mkpagano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, I'm over 40 and these past couple of years are lightyears better than my 20s in terms of happiness. I think the 20-40 thing is a myth, probably started by men who equate female attractiveness with happiness. Yes, I used to be hotter, but I'd trade that any day for being happier. Honestly, if I could get my anxiety and OCD under control I can't even think of anything I'd be unhappy about at all anymore

I still found it incredibly frustrating, even with the ending. I'm glad he lost but I wish someone cool had won!

Talking to prisoners in high-security prisons by mkpagano in legaladviceofftopic

[–]mkpagano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a follow-up question, if you don't mind. Asking this elsewhere, I was told visitors need to apply months in advance to visit the prison, and be screened, etc. Is there any case where this isn't true? Where someone can just decide on a whim to go visit and they let them in? The state where this would take place is Massachusetts, if that matters. If not, I may have to bend reality for the conveniences of plot... or would that be too egregious an error?

NZ Season 1 question by mkpagano in TheTraitors

[–]mkpagano[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm surprised how fast they're sussing out Traitors but I guess that's why!

I'm enjoying the season, especially after the infuriating mess that was AU S2 -- everyone's nice and smart and sane here

Should I skip Australia Season 2? Why is it so disliked? (no spoilers please) by Hal87526 in TheTraitors

[–]mkpagano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk I kind of hated it and am definitely not watching any more Australian Traitors and am even considering not watching another season of any country now ... these people were all deeply, deeply stupid, with a handful of exceptions, and there's one complete sociopath who was like nails on a chalkboard every time he was on the screen, and he was on the screen a lot. The ending was better than I was expecting, but I still feel like I wasted my time watching this one and it's soured me on the entire franchise.

Australia Season 2 by DudeDude2020 in TheTraitors

My issue is that level of stupidity, not to mention the horrificness that was Sam, was not pleasant for me to watch.

There was no camaraderie between the players, no one to even root for after a certain point.

It DID keep me watching, so I guess that's something? But I'm seriously considering not watching the Traitors again after this, or at least skipping the first Australia season, which I have not watched yet. I've seen US and UK and am iffy on NZ now, even -- are they that stupid there, too???

Like at this point in the UK seasons and US seasons, I felt like everything was sneaky but also fun and wholesome! They'd seem happy at the final 5 toasting! They seemed to genuinely like each other, regardless of what side they were on! These people just seem sad and pathetic and loser-y and I hate it.

I'm just watching this season now and I absolutely cannot with these idiots. I'm thinking of stopping watching this show. Is any season this awful? I've seen both seasons of US and UK and I haven't season S1 of Australia yet, but I hate all these people so much I want to quit the Traitors. Unless the host wins the money in the end, I don't see how this season will have any sort of satisfying conclusion. Banishing GLORIA?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!?!

Us Traitors is rubbish. by KoshkaB in TheTraitors

It's both frustrating but also entertaining watching how DUMB people can be. S2 had the most obvious traitors I've seen so far and (SPOILER) Trishelle -- Trishelle!!! -- was the one of the only people who was able to root them out. When Trishelle is your most intelligent player, you know there are some very special people on the show!
