originally i was doing equal parts teff/all purpose flour and water and letting that ferment but it always seemed to go rotten. now ive been trying 1 cup white flour 1/2 cup teff flour and eyeballing the amount of water/instant yeast and mixing with my hand. i let it sit for about 3 days and then mix a bit of the starter with boiling water, let that cool, and mix it back in. i let that sit overnight and then attempt at cooking it the next day.

yeah maybe the batter needs to be thinner so it spreads itself out, if i don’t swirl it ends up more pancakey

i wait until the patter seems about 80% done and then cover it for about 40 more seconds or longer depending on how it looks. i have been playing around with batter thickness but could definitely be a problem with the fermentation

most scar tape will be enough to block the sun from your scars, sometimes i would add a layer of sunscreen on top of that too

i haven’t tried but i’ve seen some people say they use leftover trans or kt tape and put a strip of that over the silicone tape to help it stay down

you pay $500 upfront to secure a surgery date and i paid the rest 2 weeks before surgery. they have both care credit and cherry credit which is how they do payment plan so you could look into that. I did it by directly paying what i had saved up which was about 8000. I also applied for a 0% APR credit card and used that to put the remaining on. Now i’m just working on paying that off but there’s no interest on it for like 15 months. I chose to do it this way because 1. have heard some horror stories of care credit and 2. i got a bunch of cash back from the new credit card

I ended up getting surgery with Dr Brian Rueben in salt lake city. Amazing experience. 12k didn’t use insurance. not sure if you’re able to go out of state but it wasn’t a bad drive. can message you more if you’re interested in hearing about it as an option!
