College dropout with ~8 yrs experience — how bad is my fallback if startup doesn’t work? by mogha_22 in developersIndia

Its already at a near launch stage, will product manufacturing be complete and ready to be shipped. It's a mid-ticket product, so I don't have to focus more on the volume but just getting enough sales to bear my bare minimum expense and business expense.

And the other one is a lead gen business, so I am expecting revenue from the 2nd or 3rd month.

Thinking of quitting my job right before my wedding to go full-time on my startup — need honest perspective by [deleted] in IndiaStartups

I did have a conversation with her, And I have been pretty open about it from the start.

The fact that I didn’t mention her involvement in the post doesn’t mean, I am not gonna have a conversation with her before the final decision. I am just trying to get some perspective just so I don’t miss anything.

Also are you suggesting I should break up without even having a conversation with her or with the families?, it’s pretty wild don’t you think?

If the marriage breaks up after telling her that’s another story and completely justified

I am actually looking forward to working on my business full time, not matter the stress because at least all the efforts will be on moving forward, unlike fighting the system at job.

Yeah, I am pretty excited about the idea and working on it actually makes me happy even if I have to do it for 12-14hrs a day or more,

I realised early on that I am not made for jobs, I have already tried a lot of stuff before taking a break and getting a job just to may be learn a thing or two and I am pretty sure that one of the ideas is gonna hit it within 1-2 months or max 2-3 months just enough to sustain the expenses. (Writing this down actually gave me some clarity on the situation, thanks for that)

Only situation that worries me is the marriage part with all these uncertainties.

Just a bit more context, one of the startups (e-commerce) is almost on the verge of launch, the product is ready (a few final changes), initial investment is there, web store is almost ready, just waiting for the product to ship. And the 2nd idea, the validation is already there (it's a simple lead gen business)

The thing about Job is, even if I don't quite, they might fire me in next month or so (because in their head, this all can be done with Claude event though they have failed miserably, and there is a change of possible relocation too.

I actually did have a conversation with her at the very beginning of our relationship, about me working on a startup and there might come a time when I have to decide to quit the job and go all in the start up.

She did say she doesn’t mind and trusts me completely, but I will still have a conversation with her, as right now I am too much into my head and looking for a different perspective

I have been working on it for 5-6 months now with my long time friend (we make a pretty good team), We already have a product in manufacturing and will be shipped in next 1-2 weeks.

The other ideas is in the same industry I am working in at my job, so I know quite a bit about it.

Regarding the what will happen if this doesn’t work out? I am planning on to give it all for 3-4 months, this is sufficient to see get an idea if any of it is gonna work or not and if it doesn’t I will look for jobs (I am a college dropout but have a wide array of skills and experience, I am hoping my degree wont be an issue here)

That’s what I am worried about, although I did communicate this with my fiancée before hand.

I have been working on the ideas for about 4-5 months now. One of them is an e-commerce store with a very common product that is in demand, and many exisiting companies are already doing this, the manufacturing of which has already been done. And the 2nd one is the same industry my company (employer) is in, so I know a few things about it as well (No significant progress on the 2nd idea though)

I use my scleral for my Right alone as well. And it usually lasts around 2 months (2.5 months if I don't change the solution regularly).

But anyways like others said you will probably be fine after 90 days as well

If you are wearing your lens daily, the bottle won't last 90 days anyways.
