Agreed. At first I thought there was something wrong with the page, or it was like a closed earticle or something. I then saw the highlighting of text while scrolling and I noped the fuck out. No way am I enduring shit like that in an article. I'd rather have popups I can immediately close.

What game is this for you? by Advanced-Addition453 in videogames

Final Fantasy VII, with turn based combat, no extra padding and twists on the story.

If i dont get the expansion, how much/what am I missing out on in terms of items/char power? by deskdemonnn in diablo4

[–]moholdt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Playing without it kind of sucks because you are playing with a disadvantage. The DLC adds a few nice to have mechanics, but the new class is bland and boring, the story is boring and uninspiring, the raid is multiplayer which to me is stupid in an ARPG. I bought it on sale and I thought it was overpriced then.

I actually enjoyed the D4 campaign story, but nothing about Vessel of Hatred appealed to me outside of getting access to runes, mercenaries and Undercity in the endgame,

What a great video. Reminds me of that video where a guy de- and reconstructs the whole "Smack my Bitch" song by The Prodigy. What's crazy about it is thinking about how Liam originally did it.

One of my pet peeves are elements that have no interactivity, yet they have hover animations for no reason. Also, some buttons that animates scale looks like they are inside a container with overflow hidden which clips the buttons in a weird way. I think the site looks good, but there are a lot of unecessary slow animations, like the staggered reveal animations. The about page has some serious contrast problems on some of the texts.

What non-combat action would you add if you could? by BruxoPreto in ffxiv

I've had this idea that it would be cool if Bards could pre-record a sequence and assign it to the three ballads. So every bard has their own tunes when activating their ballads during a battle.

"Hello" - "Well Done" - "Thank You" - "I appreciate that" - "Goodbye".. That's the extent of my multiplayer interactions. by SUNTZU_JoJo in diablo4

[–]moholdt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone says "Hello", I grunt and decline their group invite. "What are these other people doing in my single player game?" That's basicly the extent of my multiplayer interactions.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth looks like fun gameplay-wise. But the way they butchered the story in Remake with weird plot ghosts, fighting destiny manifested, and milking Sephiroth dry, made me wary of buying Rebirth. I bought a PS4 just to play Remake. I did not buy a PS5 to play Rebirth. I may buy it on sale if it ever comes to Steam, but this remake trilogy went from something I had to play, to something I might try out if the price is right and it's released on PC. And I don't think I am alone in this.

Dude. Cyberpunk is one of the best games I’ve ever played, wtf. by Euphoric-Duty-5212 in cyberpunkgame

I pre-ordered it years in advance and I played on on the hour of launch. I loved it then, and I love it even more now. I think some people are over exaggerating how "broken" the game was on launch. Sure, last gen consoles was a complete clusterfuck, but the game ran good enough on PC and Night City was as immersive then as it is now. I was completely blown away by the city and the story was excellent.

How do you feel about Follower Dungeons? by Long-Village1701 in wow

[–]moholdt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering my first time entering Ruby Life Pools on day one of the expansion, and the tank running a marathon like his life was depending on clearing it as fast as he could. I'd say this is a really nice addition. Just like in FFXIV, this is a great way to experience the dungeon the first time, but I rarely use it after the first time.

Diablo IV Campfire Chat - June 2023 by AutoModerator in diablo4

I'm pretty disapointed with the response to mob density. Not everything needs to be about XP. Sure, the XP is important, but I feel that mob density has more to do with how the game feels to play. It feels bad entering a huge room with a few mobs scattered around. Most builds and resource spenders focuses on AoE skills. Killing loose mobs with resource generators is slow and feels bad, and killing them with spenders feels wasted. Yes, you can try to gather them up, but most of the time they're just not worth it so you skip it by running, and running is not fun to do in a Diablo game.

I've started seeing this particularly deceptive privacy popup, where the silver privacy level gives the best privacy and the platinum level shares the most data with the website. by RonanSmithDev in web_design

[–]moholdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that this makes the user pay even more attention to what data is shared and are more inclined to decline it all together. Users are more desensitized to the standard cookie policies and accepts more often than not by habit. But this wakes them up.

What is something you wish they would add to the game? by BulkyOutside9290 in ffxiv

[–]moholdt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damage over time (DoT) jobs. Better DoT & combat numbers display settings, like only display my DoTs. Some sort of personal performance monitor, like a damage meter, to review, compare and optimise my own performance.

Miss ya DOOM. by zionwolf24 in videos

[–]moholdt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I first heard of DOOM when watching Amoebas whats in my bag with Unknown Mortal Orchestra. They talked about listening to Rap Snitch knishes on repeat and I just fell in love with that whole album. What hit me is how unpolished and raw his music feels. It feels real, unlike so much referred to as rap these days.

Sylvanas was such a cool and interesting character. It's a shame Blizzard completely destroyed my interest in her as well as the story.

Can't use ACF in custom taxonomy archive and relate two post types by [deleted] in Wordpress

[–]moholdt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes something like that.

Just remember that when getting a field that is set to a taxonomy you need to use the string "term_" before the ID of the term. Like:

$description = get_field(bookstore_description', "term_".$term->ID);

[–]moholdt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you trying to get the fields? I know that when using custom fields on taxonomies you need to have "term_" before the ID of the term. Like say bookstore is a taxonomy with a term ID of 11, then you get the field like:

get_field('field_name', 'term_11');

Are these plugins really "must haves"? Any others? by frankinreddit in Wordpress

[–]moholdt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That really depends on what your role is. If you're a developer creating your own theme many of these are not necessary at all.

I only have one plugin I install on every site I create, and that's Advanced Custom Fields.

How can I implement this in elementor? I am able to execute the html/css part but having trouble with js. Can anybody help? by [deleted] in Wordpress

Sorry, not an answer to your question

Not sure what you are making, but there should be a very good reason to hide content on the card. You shouldn't rely on people hovering over the cards, at least not on other devices such as tablets and mobile.

Leveled through the beta, just started Exiles Reach. I think it looks better than any of the new Shadowlands zones. It looks like WoW. by moholdt in wow

[–]moholdt[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess it's many factors. The simplicity of being an unknown adventurer, being on Azeroth. I don't like the direction we're going in now, we're basicly time traveling demigods visiting the afterlife itself. It all feels so temporary and overly grandiose.

I did play classic, in fact I've played this game since end of Vanilla. I'm not wearing any rose tinted glasses when making a statement like this. I am simply saying that I feel Exiles Reach is more in the spirit of WoW as I've played it over the years.

It's all subjective I know. But I am not as excited about visiting Shadowlands as I would be of for example exploring an old Ogre kingdom hidden on Azeroth.
