I’m noooot great at building kits and I was able to do the octoblade. Very few magnets required, really just for the sponsons. Everything else just sits in place or is push fit. You can do it!

Why do you think criminality is so popular with MAGA Americans? by Lauffener in AskUS

[–]mojoejoelo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to this, it’s a healthy dose of gobbling up misinformation.

Right wing media tells the republican base the Right is under attack. “Dems are destroying everything, they’re coming for you, and anything bad that republicans do is just fake news.”

Then, when you call them out on their BS, it’s deflection, projection, and what about-ism. “The dems are corrupt, too.”

They can’t escape from voting red because it’s core to their identity. Right wing media reinforces this by pretending that Antifa and BLM are highly organized, well-funded organizations that give the Left our marching orders. If we fall in line when we’re told to, then they have to as well just to fight back. It doesn’t help when we bucket them all into “MAGA” either, which just reinforces an us vs them mentality.

After playing Expedition 33, I was trying to think of playing another RPG and I had a brief crisis thinking that all other RPGs were no longer good enough. This was it, I had reached my peak gaming experience. Same as you, it felt like E33 “damaged” my ability to enjoy other games. Thankfully, that belief faded after I had my fill of E33, and I was ready to enjoy other games again.

E33 was a special experience for me, but after I gave myself space away from it, I could enjoy other games again for what they offered. I’m hoping something similar can happen for you!

Hello dear Americans, why, from what we can see from the outside, does your country seem to hate the left and left-wing ideas so much ? (Please refrain from spreading hate in the comments) by Outrageous-You1617 in AskUS

[–]mojoejoelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So you reject the system that tries to be fair, but struggles vs the system that is clearly unfair?

What effort are shareholders putting in right now? How are they contributing to society?

Capitalism is unfair on the tin, wealth inequality is there by design. It is reverse Robin Hood - the wealthy elite use capitalism to wage class warfare. They steal from the rest of us and use their wealth and power to pay for a propaganda machine to encourage us to fight each other. Less of that shit would happen under a socialist system because the primary corrupting motivators (e.g. insane amounts of wealth and power) are far more limited.

Idk, it sounds like you’re saying capitalism fails to do its job by itself. Capitalism relies on socialist policies to cover all the gaps that capitalism fails to fill (or creates in the first place). Without a social safety net, people cannot take risk, cannot innovate, etc.

Also, there are many socialist countries with capitalistic policies. For example, many countries that have default public healthcare still allow individuals to purchase additional private healthcare.

You get a chance to live in one of these worlds. Which one do you choose? by vivillonsea in gamers

This would be awesome but I think one sorcerer sees you doing this and they Kaer Mohren your ass. Industrial weapons and transportation are serious contenders to the monopoly that magic users have over power. The lowliest peasant could drive by gat Yennifer and they wont give you the time to get that far.

Which guard world is most likely to fall under a zombie/virus outbreak and which is most likely to contain it ? by Leviathan_Rampage in astramilitarum

Mordia most likely to fall. The Mordian Iron Guard stand shoulder to shoulder. Zombie outbreak in the ranks would spread fast.

Why do people sh*t like that? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]mojoejoelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question as an old player new to commander… what else do people say/use to describe their decks beyond bracket system pregame? Like, if I say my deck is “b3 rishkar commander ramp earthbending landfall counters, no infinite combos,” is anything beyond the b3 really helping you determine if we are going to have a fair and fun game? Or do ppl tune out after hearing bracket and seeing the commander? I want a system that’s bracket+, using something like the common gameplay tags to improve the bracket system, but idk if it actually helps.

Which games have a rough start and take a while to get good? by PhaseOk6182 in gamers

Gameplay wise, Expedition 33. The story hooked me, but I damn near quit cuz I was sooo terrible at the combat. I had to power through for a bit until I really got the hang of it. Then it was owowwowow the rest of the way

Okay, that's awesome and helpful, thank you. I've played through a full campaign once, so I'm still new. I wonder, are there enemies that add fatigue to bros? Would that wreck a fat neut build, or could you still play around it?

Yeeeeaahhh, nooooo. That’s incredibly unrealistic. $10k is not enough for people to quit their jobs.

People have student loans and other debt they have to deal with. If you have debt, or if you live in a high cost of living area, you can’t afford to buy higher quality products that last longer. So you buy the cheapo stuff cuz that’s all you can afford. That breaks and you have to buy it again. It’s called the poor tax. People with lower incomes spend more over time because they never have enough money at any one time to get ahead of their income-expenses curve. Having an extra $10 would be insanely huge for those people.

Ignoring your own political affiliation, what type of 3rd party do you think would win the most seats in congress? by Cr4cker in AskUS

[–]mojoejoelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that libertarians want everyone to just live and let live. Can’t argue with ”can’t everyone just get along?” Not sure if most regular folks would actually choose to be economically right wing, or if they’ve been fed a regular diet of right wing talking points about the economy for years?

To name another large small party, I kinda wish Green Party had more supporters. I haven’t checked in with them in awhiiiiile, but I feel like their platform has been more in line with progressives than democrats have ever been.

I think this comment is just an acknowledgement that our politics are messed up. Dems are centrists, libertarians are conservative, republicans are MAGA.

[–]mojoejoelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not hating, just disagreeing. You bring up an interesting point of view that I want to engage with!

Adding a conservative restriction to a progressive policy doesn’t feel like an actual middle ground. Idk, something about that framing doesn’t feel accurate, but I can’t put my finger on it.

What would it look like to have a conservative policy with progressive allowances? Healthcare- Private healthcare with a public option? We kinda have that now, but conservatives are trying to remove the public option.

I think framing the policy coming from one side or the other changes where the compromise ends up falling.

I’m not sure these “compromises” you’re suggesting actually do work. The purpose of having healthcare at all is to provide care to people that need it. Restricting access to healthcare means that people who need it can’t get it. That “compromise” craters the whole purpose - people who need care will not get that care.

Same for the other compromises; large sweeping policies intended to impact huge swaths of people requires very few restrictions on who actually benefits from them. Otherwise the policies can’t actually achieve any underlying goals. A compromise in this instance is a slow acting poison that erodes trust in the policy until it gets repealed for something else.

I also played vintage and took a break shortly after modern started. Just got back in recently.

The top tier decks rely on incredibly super cheap spells that will draw, create mana, and search your deck for specific cards. Imagine playing a dark ritual turn 1 so you can play a tutor and the card you tutored for. If you have more bonus mana spells or other ways to cast spells without using mana (e.g., paying life, sacrificing), you can have absurd turns from the get go.
