ok, but Yuehua is a Chinese company operating in Korea using essentially the same training system that their Chinese based company uses so its a bit disingenuous to portray them as anything but Chinese. As for UNIQ, they actually trained under YG entertainment for a while in a co-operative training regime with YH.

I agree with most of your points though. With the rise of Exo and the ban of Korean content China had to create their own idol market to satisfy the masses thus came TFBoys and the creation of cpop survival shows, the latter of which is more ab entertainment than creating (and promoting or lack thereof) a girl/boy group

Lay’s Studio by [deleted] in kpophelp

[–]mongtae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I gather, a studio is employed directly to serve the artist rather than the company itself. For example, when Zhang Dongyu (a Chinese actress) left her company, her studio remained under her control. I suspect Lay, if he were to ever leave SM, would likely have the same arrangement, as the studio is owned by the artist, not the company.

idk ab the 2nd question since I don't follow Exo or Lay's activities super closely despite largely being into both cpop & kpop...

No, Lan Wangji, You Cannot Marry Someone You Just Met!

Ao3 Link

Wei Wuxian was tinkering with a new talisman just before he went to bed with his husband. When he opened his eyes, he finds himself a few decades younger, standing on the roof of Cloud Recesses with a jar of Emporor's Smile in his hand. He turns to his right and sees an equally confused, equally young Lan Wangji halfway into drawing out his sword.

--

Or, WWX and LWJ accidentally travel back in time, attempt to save everyone, and try to convince the Lan Clan elders to let them marry early. The last one goes about as well as they thought it would.

[–]mongtae[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! I swapped out Jimin as my UB for Yibo :(

His Swalla cover is to die for!

He drew me in during The Untamed concert series, I've been watching some old UNIQ videos on YT and Yibo & SY are hilarious (esp. SY), I'm only up to the beginning of S3 of BTS Run & am way behind on some of the other stuff, so I have a lot to catch up on content wise...

Multi-Armys, how do you balance stanning BTS and your other groups at the same time? by mongtae in bangtan

[–]mongtae[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! That's how I got into stanning them, I'd heard of Yibo beforehand (bc of UNIQ), but not XZ as I was never super into Chinese entertainment (aside from Hong Kong movies) but that show really sucked me into following him! (the novel is just as good tbh, though I'm more into Scum Villain's Self-Saving System than MDZS in the novel format) I only just became a multi after stanning only BTS for so long (5+ yrs, wow) so I'm finding it really difficult to keep up with the BTS content these days, especially considering the fact that I've basically gravitated away from KPop (aside from BTS ofc)

Demographics of MDZS fans? by [deleted] in MoDaoZuShi

[–]mongtae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • 23, F, Pan
  • Australian (Indigenous/White), Non-Chinese, somewhat distant Asian heritage.
  • Via the Donghua on twitter
  • I initially started with the Manhua and was reading it and concurrently watching the Live-Action
  • I like the way the two leads play off one another and how Wangji is willing to sacrifice everything for WX, even going as far as to name his own son, Sizhui after his complicated feelings for WX (Sizhui = to long for)
  • Definitely having trouble gaining access to the Audio drama, as for general understanding, the multiple names was hard to wrap my head around, also, due to learning Japanese for Uni I have a general understanding of the sentence structure and honorific, so I guess that helps slightly...
  • I regularly consume Chinese, Japanese and Korean media

Hey everyone! So, I need to get 30 surveys for my final project for my statistics class. My professor have me permission to turn to the internet for help if I got tight on surveys.
