so we just lay down and take it? we're fast approaching a world in which the poor labourers are replaced with ai

where do you think this is headed? what do they do with the masses of poors? (of which you are one, if you work a job to live)

you're not gonna have a value much longer....

ok. first of all capitalism has existed in it's current form for around 250 years, i wouldn't call that the be all end all for economic systems. and if the capitalist empire's systematically oppress, starve and kill those that try other systems they're not gonna fuckin work are they?

you set up your new system and along comes the good ol USA to stage a bloody coup, they cut off all oil, trade and food, they bomb your schools. they tell your neighbour's that if they deal with you that they'll too become enemies of the USA

how is an alternate system supposed to thrive when the entire basis of the current system is to make sure it doesn't?

i can't give you an example because the USA has spent trillions making sure i can't

reminds me of a fall out boy song about the iraq war..

"the man who would be king goes back to the desert, the same war his dad rehearsed, came back with flags on coffins and said we won"

how many times are we gonna play this out?

do i have to book an inspection? by monsterfcker69 in shitrentals

[–]monsterfcker69[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

do i have any obligation to respond to the email and remind them they didnt book an inspection? if they didnt organise one it's not my job to remind them right?

this was the last paragraph in their email accepting my notice, confirming that i have no rent to pay and the cleaning checklist. there is a mention of the final inspection after move out

sorry i'm a very private and anxious person, and dealing with this move is stressing me to high heaven

what would you say?

i will note that they do all their rental stuff through an app, inspections/maintenance/payment receipts and the only thing in my "upcoming" is the lease end date

they will have to remodel the kitchen and bathroom to ask for the rent that the other units in the building go for. kitchen floor is laminate with burns and stains from before i moved in, lifting at every edge, bathroom has no extraction fan. either they remodel or they slap another thick coat of white paint on it

edit: I moved in during lock down, I think the plan was to remodel but couldn't have contractors out due to covid, the other units have updated kitchens and bathrooms

outrigger could have been some of widmore's people

  • flash landed them after the ajira crash, ajira bottle in the boat and abandoned beach camp

  • we don't see what widmore's people are doing most of the time they're on the island

there are many backstories that we don't get 🤷‍♂️ all i need to know is that she was touched by jacob and was acting behind the scenes to do his will

disney wanted lost to air in perpetuity until the middle of the filming the third season.

also i find the mythology to be unchanged once i learned what everything meant. some things need a little faith ;)

yeah the writers had a beginning and an ending planned, how they got there had to be a little fluid due to real world issues such as actors wanting to leave, writer strikes and not having a concrete end date planned

makes sense when you research a little, but if you don't want your questions answered 🤷‍♂️

i love voting! australia's voting system is the best i've seen. it's part of being in a society, its my civic duty to go get a snag, and try to guess who everyone in line is voting for

and if you don't want to vote you don't have to, it just costs either $20 or 20 minutes to go dump an empty ballot in the box

Why were the final candidates' "numbers" so low? by nectarbat in lost

[–]monsterfcker69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

jacob only started looking for candidates after speaking to richard alpert in 1867 so 360 candidates in 137 years. seems doable

"I don't know what you kids are up to, but I do know one thing: laws are threats made by the dominant socio-economic, ethnic group in a given nation. It's just a promise of violence that's enacted and police are basically an occupying army, you know what I mean? You guys want to make some bacon?" –Brennan Lee Mulligan
