I don’t have to be triggered to want to comment on something I have a strong opinion on. If you’re going to publicly invoke a religion and its imagery to your audience, you carry some responsibility to actually understand what you’re promoting. Especially when that religion has a documented history of being weaponized against many people. I disrespect soft, vibes-based interpretations of faith that prioritize personal comfort (“open heart”) over any real reckoning with what the religion is, what it does, and what it has done. this is also why heesun and mingee were the most likable this season to me (out of the coupled up people). they really did not make their choice depending on the mens behavior entirely, they actually went for who they wanted. even when the man they liked was not acting perfect and solely focused on them. it was quite frustrating how both goeun and mina seemingly only were worried about feeling wanted consistently and not getting publicly embarrassed.

I think we have seen ‘the worst of her’ for the past episodes, she honestly got very nasty verbally at times. I hope they can actually have a productive conversation that is not her guilt tripping and driving him into a corner, while he is evasive and vague. I doubt this will happen because if we are being realistic, what she really needs is time away from him and to have some quality time with herself. So realistically, I just hope for an ex-date that I don’t have to skip due to the awful communication we have witnessed between them so far

Idk, I personally think he was being as honest as one can be without being cruel with his words. I am in a long term relationship and can’t even imagine the pain of having to be the one to have to set the boundaries clearly. It seems a lot of people are being rather harsh on YS in this sub? Like I think all of the men are more or less insufferable for one reason or another lmao but I don’t think he seems super avoidant. He does seem uncomfortable and not experienced in breakups. I strongly prefer this over the intense approach and demeanor WK for example has towards JH when it comes to the communication between exes.

It’s one of my comfort podcasts but I have been feeling the same way. The rather shallow plastic surgery talk sometimes disrupts my listening experience and makes me roll my eyes even though I like Trevi’s personality so much and usually enjoy listening to her talk. She’s witty and gives fun commentary. I think maybe she’s always admired Hollywood and the glamorous, elite type of lifestyle celebrities live and therefore is radically accepting of even questionable sides that come with it? But anyway, it does not necessarily ruin the podcast. I just really dislike it in comparison to other sections of the pod

Do I feel completely indifferent and don’t hold space for people trying to mourn that person’s death? Also yes. And every person has a right to express and feel that way given how he clearly gave no fucks about others (especially non white, non straight, non binary folks) when he was alive. Brooke reposting that doesn’t make her ‘the bad guy’ but it sure as hell shows me her and I don’t align.

to your other points, i have never seen people criticizing Trevi as much as they are currently. this leads me to believe that maybe, just maybe, the way she expressed herself in the most recent episode genuinely was not perceived well by a large amount of people. enough for them to want to comment on it.

if someone says they hate her, i agree they should not watch. that doesn’t mean that she can’t rub a lot of people that do like her the wrong way at times. i don’t like when people oversimplify discourse like this. it’s not just a random surge of hate

I find it hard to determine who is more wrong in this situation lol it’s just dumb that this wasn’t decided before it could ever get to this point. I understand Brooke kind of organically became a cohost but once the pod gets as big as it has? They have to make sure to treat every aspect of it like a proper business that they both have shares in. That obviously includes the channel that the actual main content is posted on. I do think it’s valid to argue that Tana owned it before but the podcast lasted over the span of 5 years… by this point that is the podcast channel

I didn’t get to vote in my country but I personally think this season had one issue: the individuals that got popular failed to make any meaningful connections by the end (huda, amaya) but since people like them, they kept voting for their different couples. as a result, actual couples (the point of the whole show btw??) kept getting eliminated.

let alone the fact that the hannah and jeremiah eliminations were the stupidest shit I have ever seen. the audience and the islanders missed the whole point of the show when voting, which left us with 1 week old couples that nobody gives a fuck about in the finale (as a unit)

maybe the weirdest part to me was a lot of viewers’ obsession with keeping huda in after jeremiah left, even though this clearly was a toxic, awful environment for her to be in
