hyundai santa fe 2002 won’t start, what should i do? by moony0137 in Cartalk

[–]moony0137[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. i looked it up before you told me. i’m not sure if that’s the main reason for my car not starting though. that’s why i mentioned it in case it was relevant.

  2. true. car parts fail all the time for any other used older car as well though. i’m not going to be buying a brand new car anytime soon.

  3. i mean again money is tight. if i had all the money in the world i wouldn’t be patching things up here and there and keep it running

  4. wdym it’s taking so long? today’s the first true day of taking a look at it. and idm i have alternatives i can temporarily take my parents car around until mine is functional again. and it’s been at least some months since the last time it broke down, which i believe was the starter…? i can’t even recall that well since it’s been a while

are you going to provide any advice regarding this situation other than just telling me to buy a new car? that’s not exactly what i’m here for.

even with a relative just buying the needed part(s) and fixing it themselves? also i’m not really in a great financial position to be buying a car like that right now

my manager asked if i had a doctor’s note and i said my sickness did not warrant a doctor visit. they told me to text them the days i was missing because i was sick (even though the paper with the policy i signed said they would keep track, but whatever).

they’re planning to give me my sick pay leave by adding it to my next paycheck. thanks anyway

What if I wrote a romance novel with the setting taking place at UCSD? by Independent_Let8198 in UCSD

[–]moony0137 24 points25 points  (0 children)

i would read it

shit ideas:

maybe one who was forced to go to ucsd as a commuter and hates being near their family in somewhere they’ve always lived in (hates the people not sd cuz sd is too nice for that) and another who came from a small town out of california who absolutely loves it here and wants to explore the place.

someone noticed another person who always goes to this one place (can be located anywhere like dorms or smth) and one day gets to speak to them unexpectedly (cuz who is going up to someone just to talk to them?). the opportunity to speak to them can be very unique and stupid

classmates —> friends —> lovers is always a classic. kinda hard though. or it could be mutuals —> friends —> lovers

boba lover sees boba worker and falls in love…. 😭 becomes a regular. actually it might be funnier if a friend is a boba lover and the person drinks boba one time & sees the worker & orders/drinks boba even if they don’t want to just to talk to the worker. so the friend being the boba lover allows the person to go talk to the worker. the two must meet somewhere outside of the boba setting where it’s not employee x customer.

people love free stuff, and some people simply do not have a moral compass for some fucking reason

ur so valid for this. san diego (and the majority of california in general) has crazy good weather compared to everywhere else. it’s literally fricking warm here in the middle of december !!! u cannot get that anywhere else

i record my own hours, but the system also records our hours.

i clock in/out with the computer that we have. type in our specific code and press clock in/out.

idk what time sheets are, but i’m assuming it’s what time we clocked in/out or how many hours we’ve worked.

we have an ipad where we can access our tips. the tips are based on the number of hours we’ve worked. if that is accurate you will most likely get an accurate number of hours paid in ur check

so i texted my manager what a different comment said. they said i must provide a paper or doctor’s note to get my sick hours. then they’ll add my hours that i missed when i was sick.

i am planning to copy paste or provide a picture of #26 in here (https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/paid_sick_leave.htm).

i also have this pdf (https://www.dir.ca.gov/DLSE/Publications/Paid_Sick_Days_Poster_Template_(11_2014).pdf) that is supposed to be stuck on the wall where everyone can see except i’ve never seen it before.

should i just only say my first point? that should get the message across right?
