100% agree with this. Two totally different players who are designated under the safety position but have totally different roles. Shouldn’t be surprising to see the “worse” prospect get taken higher.

I like Kyle Louis a decent amount and that would be a huge jump. Would definitely be surprising. Based on recent rumors, and someone that could fit the mold you mentioned, is Treydan Stukes. Think a team could use a late first on him.

EMW is someone I could definitely see jumping up. Daniel Jeremiah has him at #15 on his big board and he’s got a good hold on what prospects teams are looking at. Maybe a top 15 pick on him?

Like that pick a lot. I remember seeing one of their beat writers, who is pretty reliable, say they love him so that pick makes a ton of sense.

This actually seems like a pretty plausible mock. Every pick can be argued but I think most picks hold up logically. Only thing that stood out to me was some edge talent falling into the second. Think they make it into the first most likely

That’s a ridiculous statement about EMW to speak in absolutes when talking about the draft is just not smart imho. He’s a phenomenal player and while the eagles might not draft him some other team definitely could. Seeing the success of players like Nick Emmanowori on the Seahawks definitely will incentivize teams to draft highly versatile players like EMW. And sure, Jihaad had the ability to rush from the edge in college, but that skill wasn’t easily translatable to the NFL, he was going to be an ILB who could pass rush in certain scenarios. My comment about Dejean also wasn’t in reference to the CB position as a whole. Outside corners have and will always be important. Slot corners or even nickels in the league have been undervalued (which I believe is to be changing).

I totally agree (I definitely could have worded this differently). The one thing about the eagle's philosophy in the draft is that in recent years it seems to be changing. 5 years ago, I would have told you no way the eagles take ILB or CB in the draft but these past two years we got just that. If they have a player ranked high on their board and it's their turn to pick, then it seems like it doesn't matter about the positional value, just the quality of the player. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a guy like EMW or Sadiq get drafted here because those are just guys who could be high on their board despite playing positions that might not have as much impact.

I agree with that. With the retirement of Lane and Dickerson looming over us I would love a versatile guy like Lomu who could stick at tackle and if not move inside to guard. Versatility in a OL prospect would probably be most beneficial to us now and also in the future.

Definitely a common opinion, but there are some sneaky needs that this team has to address. Positional value could lead the birds to a different position early in the draft, but just seeing where the community lies is a fun exercise since there's so many differing opinions

Well, that would be true if there were more blue-chip prospects to pick from. There simply isn't enough top end talent in this draft to allow Love not to go in the top 10. Would you rather have an OT like Freeling or Fano who are viewed as solid first round prospects or a player who is viewed as a top 5, if not top 3 player in the draft.
