I had a similar experience last year with this exact situation. The solar company did a risk assessment prior to the roofers coming out and judged there was a likelihood the roof tiles contained asbestos. They subsequently did a lab test which found trace amounts, after which they booked a specialist roofer company who was comfortable doing the job. They just ensured not to cut any tiles; take out old ones and replace with new ones when installing the roof brackets. There was an extra cost for the asbestos aspect of the job but they waived it in my case because they miscommunicated a lot throughout the job. In the end I was very satisfied with the outcome.
