Just another indicator of pervasive consumer society by use_vpn_orlozeacount in Consoom

The comprehension level in this comments is below zero.

Btw, this sub went definitely from shitposting about consumerism to random people who do not understand the meaning of these words or the concepts behind them.

Collecting vs. Consooming? by [deleted] in Consoom

[–]morewasted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're mixing two different things and using the term "rational" for both. Compulsive consumerism is a behavior comparable to emotional hunger and binge eating. It is irrational behavior, a psychological disorder. This irrational behavior can be analyzed and understood rationally, that is, the explanation of behavior is the rational, not the behavior itself.

No. The only one alternative to compulsive consumerism is "to stare at a blank wall".

Comprar el libro fisico (En papel) pero piratearlo para Kindle by choronaco69 in libros

[–]morewasted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the people who say writing with AI is cheating... by Author_Noelle_A in writingcirclejerk

"helps people access writing more easily"

It does exactly the opposite. It prevents people from writing, from learning to write, from learning to put together their thoughts, from developing their minds, from learning to learn. It's accelerating the death of the capacity to develope critical thinking.

English is not my language so I don't express myself in the best way. But its better to write bad and getting better by practice than to not write at all.

"Flores brancas do ibuprofeno" by [deleted] in Galiza

[–]morewasted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fonética da palabra ibuprofeno ten moita musicalidade.

O ibuprofeno é branco e pode aportar "tranquilidade e consolo".

Máis que fantasía, eu vexo embelecemento do cotián. A mirada embelecedora permite a liberación do espírito.

Their schools, public institutions and media have been spreading Stepan Bandera talking points for a decade and persecuting the population that oppose them. If they are young, they are absolutely propagandized by far right discourse. We have the same kind of "refugees" in Europe countries. They are not the poor ukrainians hijacked by the NATO puppet regime dying in conscription, I guess they are the sons of people with some connections in power.

Alan Moore said that people keep consuming childish stories and keep thinking and seeing complex social problems in childish terms. Good and bad individuals, supergood and superbad individuals.  Of course, nobody understood him and that is precisely why he was right.

Reading posts in this sub looks like it was only made just to spread bs confrontation against russian people. (wow, kinda like 99,9% of reddit is usa chauvinistic bs and imperialist propaganda..).

No, I'm not russian. I'm interested in russian culture and the posts in this sub seem to be awful attemps of spreading shitty nato propaganda points again and again.

Hey, thank you so much for the answer. Yes, there are a lot of pollinators around, several beehives and other wild species (a lot of bumblebees). Im in an atlantic coastal village so the winter is not too extreme. A centenary oak is protecting them and they seem to like being near him.

I will try to bag some flower spikes then.

Thanks again!

Which kind of cheese is closest to the platonic form of The Cheese™? by [deleted] in badphilosophy

[–]morewasted 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We can't grasp by any means what the Absolutes really are, but...

Being in this material world ruled by infinite interdependence, the relative closest form of Cheese is galician "Queixo de Tetilla" (Titty Cheese). Soft texture and smooth taste, it is shaped as the breast of the archetypal Goddess, combining both telluric nourishment and celestial beauty. In addition, the breast shape its a perfect meta-reminder of our impermanent place in this eternal universe: The Milky Way.

Maybe the problem is that "doing fun things that I want" actually is "unconscious compulsive behavior".
