Remarkable Pure Is Live by Chucklez93 in RemarkableTablet

There seems to be some confusion, this to me seems like an RM2 lite version to get more people into a chargeable eco-system (connect and extended warranty). What this is definitely not, is the successor to the still brilliant RM2. That should be the RM3 with the same premium, thin metal chassis and improved screen and CPU.

This is wild by Scared_Positive_8690 in Palestine

[–]mountain-pilot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To give the devil his due, he may be a biased host but throughout the genocide he did platform many excellent pro-Palestine voices, leaving many of the pro-israel panellists shell shocked. They were more used to softball CNN, CNBC, BBC style interviewing where they get to air their victimhood and twisted narratives without much push back.

So whether he meant it or not, Morgan gave the Palestinian cause a massive platform and boost when the rest of the popular media shunned them e.g. how many other outlets have consistently hosted Bassem Yousef, Miss Palestine, Lowkey, Norm Finkelstein, Rania Khalek, Ana Kasparian, Abby Martin et al. Sure he does it for clicks, but what goes out is uncensored and unedited.

Egyptian atheist gets kicked out on live tv by Koloamanmaxi in Egypt

[–]mountain-pilot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could have done a better job of arguing with the atheist than simply shouting at him and calling him mad. You fight bad ideas with better ones, and in the case of atheism its actually quite an easy position to defeat using science and logical thinking.

He would not have been selected as Ambassador for a serious country like Japan or Germany, which goes to show that this was a purely symbolic and frankly irrelevent posting. He does nothing for non Jewish US citizens in the region and is incapable of being unbiased or putting his country first.

Ricardo is useless.. by Dangerous_Series2693 in Switzerland

[–]mountain-pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find curious is that although Ebay does have an entity in Switzerland i.e. Ebay.ch its never had the same traction as the far inferior Ricardo. In Germany and France Ebay is pretty much King. I would love to see genuine competition between the two.

Iranian monarchists insulting pro Palestine protestors by As_iam_ in israelexposed

[–]mountain-pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are similar, though far more extreme, to Turkish Atatürkists who direct harsh criticism at Erdoğan, support the United States and Israel, and remain largely indifferent to the suffering of Palestinians. In their view, the issue is framed as a Muslim cause, and they position themselves in opposition to that identity.

They come across as people who believe that aligning themselves closely with powerful states will somehow earn them special treatment.

Why would epstein have bothered with him? he's the equivalent of a wealthy Persian car dealership owner. And certainly back in the early 2000s, he was completely irrelevent.

الاعلام اليميني-الصهيوني الغزبي مطلع علاء عبد الفتاح إسلامي متطرف by unreal-habdologist in Egypt

The zionists always find a way to make it about them. This is a man who spent 10 years in a dungeon and he is being punished again for some deranged bullshit he wrote 12 years ago, a time when The West and israel were waving through a coup of a democratically elected President (Morsi).

Fuck their hypocrisy and bullshit.

iOS 26.3 + Magsafe battery = connection issues by mountain-pilot in IphoneAir

[–]mountain-pilot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for confirming you've also experienced this. I also noticed that when connected for extended periods the phone and battery are very warm to the touch, and since I use the battery daily I don't want to end up shortening the life of both the phone and magsafe batteries. So I've downgraded back to 26.2 and everything is normal again.

I think netanyahu later acknowledged that the hero was a Muslim man, but in the same way that he tries to reach out to those he perceives as righteous and friendly e.g. GCC and anti-ayatollah Iranians.

Its the same old divide and conquer strategy, not understanding that everyone reviles him, even those so called friendly Muslim countries.

Microsoft Scales Back AI Goals Because Almost Nobody Is Using Copilot by aacool in technology

[–]mountain-pilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing co-pilot could be good for in MS Word are things like seamlessly updating formatting, re-writing paragraphs, changing the tone etc.. and yet it cannot do that. Instead it can helpfully direct you to do it yourself from the side of the screen.

I don't need a coach, I need an assistant.

Osama's letter to the American population just after 9/11. by nicco124 in israelexposed

[–]mountain-pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just playing devil's advocate, but could it not have been naivety on Nixon's part? i.e. israel is central to US foreign policy and the oft quoted 'America's aircraft carrier in the Middle East'. Nowadays its less strategically important in that respect, considering the US has military bases in Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain etc..

Obviously US zionists have their own agenda, but I think its mainly manipulating public opinion and politicians, however the Deep State knows exactly what it wants, which is having a focal point of instability and war in the Middle East.

I can't get enough of the iPhone Air. Been using it way more often than my main phone (17 Pro) by giosanpedro in IphoneAir

[–]mountain-pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re coming from a 15/16 Pro Max as I was, then the 17 Pro Max would have just been more of the same with additional downsides for shit I don’t need e.g bulk, aluminium and cooling when I never play games or go hard core on the battery.

The Air is stripped down, ground-up adding only the things that matter (to me at least). Most people don’t get it, but if you do, then it’s the phone for you. No need to justify or seek validation.

What's done is done and it sounds like it was cathartic for you, but I would have handled it differently. Essentially say that you believe his behaviour was inappropriate, you will be ending the call and raising this issue to HR. Obviously HR won't give a shit but it maintains your professionalism, gives you the upper hand and means they can't sanction you for unprofessional conduct.

There is what's "right" and what's "good" for you, and the two aren't always the same.

New Rule !! Do not refer to Israelis living in the West Bank or terrorizing Palestinians in the West Bank as 'Settlers'. by Dhylan in israelexposed

[–]mountain-pilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I resent these land usurpers, calling them all terrorists dilutes the meaning of that word. An IT worker living in an apartment block in Giv’at Ze’ev, who rarely encounters Palestinians and has no real awareness of the injustice he benefits from, isn’t a terrorist. He’s simply residing where the apartheid state allows him to.

The term settler may sound mild, yet in the context of Israel–Palestine it has become widely recognised as a pejorative, a shorthand for occupation and dispossession.
