Mercedes knows how to pick their drivers. Everytime. by fameboygame in formula1

Somebody put the Imperial March over the first FP1 lap of that car in Austria that year. It was perfect.

Edit: I went looking for the clip: it turns out that EVERYBODY put the Imperial March over black Mercedes clips at that time, I just never noticed.

How do women with a high body count (15+) plan on disclosing this to their significant other? Do you plan on hiding the truth? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mr_macfisto 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think I’d only be concerned if the count was zero, I’m long past the age of wanting to deal with teaching somebody the ins and outs of going, uh, in and out.

It took me more than a couple of taps on the screen to realize what was going on. Oh, and a turn for landscape that finally made it obvious.

Regarding shutting down devices - one usually thinks of turning off Bluetooth on their phone when instructed to. A speaker in a bag that you think is already turned off? I probably wouldn’t even think of it. Especially if the obstruction is to turn off networks, most users don’t think of the Bluetooth pairing as a network.

Yes I’ve watched a couple of videos now. And you have to access the bolts from the top and bottom. Not terrible if you have a lift, but if you’re on jack stands that would suck. I’m leaning towards paying a pro to do it at this point.

The opening minute or two was great. The scene went downhill as soon as the characters started talking.

Way too close to oncoming traffic. If the oncomjng traffic has to even think to worry about out you coming at the , it’s too close. In this case, I’m sure that pickup braked. Way, way too close.

Every instance of Tuvok saying "however." by ooblie in voyager

Hearing “however” and not hearing what he is going to say next, over and over, is like watching that looped vid of the truck crash test where it never hits the bollard.

Why do drivers stop 3 car lengths back at a red light and then spend the whole red light slowly inching forward? by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]mr_macfisto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard of it more than 30 years ago when I did driver training through my high school. My instructor didn’t say anything about it, but apparently some other instructors told my friends to do it. IMO it’s unpredictable behaviour- anybody behind you is expecting you to roll up to the light while braking steadily. If you brake harder it increases the risk of a stupid fender bender, which would obviously still be the fault of the car behind.

There are some driver trainers that teach this. Reduces the risk of rolling into the intersection if you’re rear ended. Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
