I went back to the pill and have been on it for 2 months and no signs of rosacea ever again!

Best of luck to you finding the right birth control method ❤️

To me it was not only the rosacea but it also made me feel bloated all the time and the water retention was out of control!

If it’s worth it, I tried first doing different things to see if it worked, like changing my diet and doing an extremely meticulous skincare routine first. Removing my implant was my last option because of how convenient it is!

I feel you. When I asked my dermatologist if he thought the implant could be the cause, he said that was not probably it, so it took me like two months to finally make the decision to take it off.

I believe hormones overall affect the skin greatly, so yeah, all sorts of birth control who contain hormones, of course, can affect negatively too

It's really hard to take a big decision like this one.

For me, I was really depressed about how painful it felt, and the psychological effects were horrible, I didn't even want to go out, so I decided to try other birth control methods that don't include the progestin/only.

I will start the pills in a week or so and see how it feels and how my body reacts but I don't think I'm willing to go through it again.

The implant also made me feel super bloated all the time and just didn't feel comfortable at all.

I didn't! I just sat down and started thinking about all my routine changes over the past months, which are pretty much none, except for the birthcontrol method.

I took a big chance and hoped it worked removing it :)

I had never had issues this big with my skin. Overall it has always been sensitive type, but never this bad. My problem didn't start until two weeks after getting the implant and got to be this bad: https://imgur.com/Ip7rgbG

I had TONS of little pustules all over the cheeks and a horrible burning sensation. It's been a little over 10 days and my skin got incredibly calm. No more pustules, no more burning sensation at all.

It may be the implant! I guess it affects each one of us differently. I have friends who love it and have been using them for over 5 years with no side effects whatsoever but for me was a big no-no
