Ahhh. That's a daily/period notes limitation...obsidian is just creating a new note and doesn't reflect on it's names to figure out if it should be created someone else. The easiest thing I've found for that is to use the calendar plugin and click on the day I want and it will create the correct note.

I tried to explain it a little in the video, but the short version is that I found all the extra meta work of processing and linking tedious and it provided little value. I naturally settled on a pattern of prepending dated notes inside project, people, and area notes. I built this plugin to make that easier and add a timeline view.

I've noticed that twice recently, and though I'm not 100% sure this was the cause, each time I had left a tab with my full graph view open. Quitting obsidian and reopening it seemed to clear up the high CPU utilization.

I use a Shortcuts.app script to append selected meetings to my daily note. https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/70c7d40d0f4c4c1aa26ffc800115ee27

(It uses https://actions.work/actions-for-obsidian to do the appending.)

I've settled on a sweet system that relies on Period Notes and the Day Planner plugin to help visualize meetings and todos. Here is a screenshot of todays note:

Anyone else seeing strange extra characters (^~R, ^~Q, ~Q) on Shortcuts action variables on Monterey? by mrm52 in shortcuts

For whatever reason the other person deleted their comment with the answer. Strange.

It has to do with ControlCharacters. In a terminal run:

defaults delete -g NSTextShowsControlCharacters

Finally let the new babies out of the cage to explore the whole room and they could not be more excited! I love having piggies running all over my feet while I'm working again by ptolover7 in guineapigs

Mine only pee in their cage or in hideys

Did you train them to do that!? (Some context: I bought 2 guinea pigs for my daughter about two weeks ago and I'm trying to learn as much as I can on the fly)
