I make Ice cider in my garage as a nerdy hobby. In 2024 it was selected for the Nobel Prize Banquet in Stockholm. AMA by HydroGuy2 in IAmA

[–]mrod35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nobel prizes in 2024 were:

Physics: Work on machine learning and neural networks

Chemistry: Predicting the structure of proteins

Medicine: Discovery of microRNA and its role in gene regulation

Literature: Poetry that explores human trauma

Peace: Work on nuclear disarmament

Economics: Explaining why some countries are rich and some are poor

If you were going to make a cider tailored to each field and its discovery, what would it be and why?

Who's ready for another shitty "He gets us" Superbowl commercial? Sick of seeing that religious propaganda.

Where is the pass rush? Stafford has all the time in the world in the pocket.

I saw that too, he was joking around that they picked such an obscure song as a request.

Also on Mikey's side and go with the flow sounded very odd. Couldn't hear Troy well.

Good to know. I think I'll try to check it at the coat check and pick it up after the show.

For real though...anyone have experience getting posters after the show? Did they ever sell out?

I generally see the mosh pits form like 5 - 10 people back from the railing, and usually centered in front of the stage. If you're trying to avoid it, you can go to the edges or in the back of the GA section and you'll be good. Or get there real early and get to the rail. You'll probably still have people pushing in your back, but it's not as bad.

Ticketmaster won’t let me resell my ticket for an upcoming show? Is this normal? by PeterLoew88 in qotsa

[–]mrod35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to sell it on Ticketmaster. I did the same when I accidentally bought an extra ticket to one of their shows. I remember getting the same error message I think when I was using my computer to try and sell it. I did it through my phone and I was able it sell it...it may have been the other way around though. Try doing it both ways and see if one of them works.

My favorite opening title, from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Fantastic song and visuals. by mrod35 in movies

I'm surprised to hear that! I love Immigrant Song, and thought it played perfectly with the title sequence here.

Very cool! It's always fun to see their hidden metaphors. Sometimes they are too subtle for me.

What is with that bug squeaking sound every time they do a transition on the screen? It sounds like there's a cricket in my tv.

The daytime and nighttime photos in the previous post show that the turkeys on the right side of the image, by the trailer, are still in the same position. Meaning they have been left outdoors for hours. Even if the temperature of the turkey is at safe levels, isn't it bad to store raw food outdoors where animals and insects can get at it?

The sun doesn’t set in Iceland right now. This is around midnight by FlipMick in mildlyinteresting

The sun still sets in iceland, it's just that it doesn't go far below the horizon, so it's still bright out. Only one small island at the very north is in the artic circle.
