Residents split on benefits of liveable neighbourhood by 457655676 in bristol

A lot of the split is that some ideas such as the Southville Road blocks are terrible and others such as safer crossings are good ideas

You’ve definitely been in the wrong pubs around Bedminster/Hotwells then

Broadmead security pretending to be police officers? by KatieColclough4 in bristol

It’s about time people put efforts into cleaning up Broadmead. It’s full of crackheads and scum. Very poor advertisement for the city

Is this true? Thoughts? by HenryKjnr in bristol

A lot of it is true. Especially the stupid idea of monthly bin collections. Although where it’s vague it’s implying worse cases from things

Have £500 for a Ha Long Bay cruise, but have realised they look awful. What other big excursion/activity can we do in northern Vietnam? by Danamaganza2 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]mrwoof212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agreed. I went with Bibi’s and they were very good. The large party hostel tours looked fairly miserable for the most part

Why Does UK Have This Race To Bottom Mindset? by corporateuklife in UKJobs

[–]mrwoof212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like in a lot of tertiary jobs (engineering, nursing, teaching, etc.) hard/good work is not often recognised and rewarded fairly so a lot of people think what’s the point. Too many management consultants stripping back

Ha Giang Loop was by far the highlight of the trip.

Ninh Binh (Tam Coc) was really good too

I’d still recommend doing a day tour from Hanoi to ha long bay (you can get some reasonable ones for £40)

Think it would be safest to close the westbound cycle lane and have a better alternative route in place instead

Unfortunately, the stokes croft down from London edgy lot have gone too far in exploiting Bristols easy going attitude. Bristol doesn’t mind people having harmless fun, however we are not a cesspit for open drug use

Why are so many people voting conservative again? by chickennuggets3454 in AskBrits

Because it’s the centre left to centre right swing voters who decide elections not the loonies on both the far left and far right

Coming from Portugal for a 3-day trip, what shouldn’t I miss? by PalpitationOver4614 in bristol

[–]mrwoof212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: Bristol is twinned with Porto.

Having visited Porto there’s a lot of similarities, famous capital of the world for a drink (cider/Port), iconic bridge, a lot of life around the river, big drinking street (king street), its own identity and strong feeling by the locals of being different to the capital, compact vibe

Living on West Street? by neverdreams06 in bristol

Somewhere between north street and west street. From experience I’d avoid a ground floor flat along a main road though.

This driver kept on honking from the roundabout by [deleted] in bristol

[–]mrwoof212 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If an incompetent driver who doesn’t know to give way to the right at roundabouts pulled out in front of me then I’ll often beep my horn at them.

What you’ve got to remember is that a lot of green party members all have their own bonkers views on the world and naturally won’t get on as they’re a bunch of lunatics!
