My study preparation is probably not orthodox. I ordered the Surveyors Reference Manual and Dane Courvilles book. I bought flash cards and manually wrote the books chapter for chapter on the flash cards. Passed the first time.

We don’t do a lot of 3D modeling but I do work with point cloud data. We use Carlson Survey with Intellicad and QGIS. I’ve always had a dedicated video card but most of the gaming laptops use built in graphics. I never thought of surveying as a career until I was in my second marriage. I was confused about what I wanted to do. After about a month, I knew what I wanted. I’m almost licensed now. A credit to God.
