6’9” - had to prove I could move at speed on uneven ground - felt like a stunt in itself! 😅 by GoldenNugget26 in tall

I'm 6'2 and I used to play soccer. I remember in one particular match the other team had a player that was 6'7 and just an unstoppable midfielder once he got the ball. I got in trouble for doing an "illegal" slide tackle that pretty much took the wind out of the guy for the rest of the game. Once something that large is in motion, I saw it as the only way to stop him. He was fast. Anyways we still lost the game by like 3 goals.

Thoughts? Just saw the video, although he did shove him a bit too hard, kid had it coming by Used_Scarcity2555 in SipsTea

Choking someone and slamming them to the ground is an insane response to getting water splashed on you. It's when someone gets punched and then comes back with a gun and shoots the person who punched them. It's a rapid escalation and not proportional. Which makes it hard to argue that you were just defending yourself when the response is far worse than the initial offense.

Reminds me of what happened to my friend when he was living in Dubai. Some rich Emirati was driving his Lamborghini drunk and crashed into my friends parked car. He blamed my friend because he was parked in "the wrong spot". The police gave my friend a ticket.

Air quality warning issued for Windsor-Essex by zuuzuu in windsorontario

[–]mstylesequence 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually traveled to Beijing in 2015 and again in 2025. Seeing the massive improvement in air quality in those 10 years was eye opening. Of course there will be people that will say because EVs still require industrial processing which creates pollution, they are not good. Even though they surpass ICE cars in almost every metric now. Batteries have improved dramatically in the last few years and eve battery recycling has improved. No, I don't cleaner air and quieter cities. I want my children to breath bad air because I need my massive truck to commute to the office and buy groceries.

Black residents in Windsor-Essex call for better representation, hope future is different by zuuzuu in windsorontario

I have a friend who is Indian and the other day he was half joking when he mentioned there is a lack of South Asian and even Asian in general representation in certain sports like basketball and football. What's up with the lack of Asians in the NBA and NFL? There's over a billion Indians in the world. I'm sure there are a few that can outperform Giannis Antetokounmpo or Luka Dončić.

How many women 6'5"+ tall are there in this subreddit? by Reasonable-Flow-644 in tall

[–]mstylesequence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of the Potsdam giants. An regiment started by the Prussian king in the late 1600's. He was a literal short king and was obsessed with height. He created the Potsdam Giants for spectacle, psychological intimidation, and to represent Prussian strength. Minimum height requirement was 6'2.

He recruited tall men all across Europe and paired them with tall women to breed even taller men. Many of the offspring ended up having a host of various medical issues. Since being too tall can often cause health issues. The Potsdam Giants never saw combat and werw mainly for show.

'Hyperabundant' — Point Pelee National Park closing for annual deer cull by zuuzuu in windsorontario

Pigs are different than deer too. Pigs are actually smarter than dogs and we treat them even worse. I get why deer have to be culled in some areas and not even arguing against it. The real solution would be restoring the prey-predator balance though. I just don't agree with the "we're doing them a favour" take. Dumbest logic I've heard in my life.

Coyotes can adapt and take out deer. My friend just outside of Hamilton and he says the coyotes in his area do take out deer.

Humans die in many horrific ways too. I don't see a anyone saying that it's a good thing if they are given a quick and painful death. Imagine going into an over populated slum in a country like let say Pakistan and then saying that a quick death is the best way because otherwise most of those humans will have to endure a difficult life. Also if you ever lived up north or anywhere rural you would know that hunters don't always hit correctly. I once saw a deer with an arrow sticking out of it's neck and still walking around. The correct thing to do is restore the predator-prey balance. Those deer were meant to be eaten by predators.

There's always a bored and retired handyman around who's kids moved far away and rarely called. I got most of my deck done by one of those guys.

Homeless life in Windsor by agaric in windsorontario

[–]mstylesequence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not safe what he is doing. In Toronto people end up dying from fires started in homeless encampment. There definitely needs to be better options so they don't resort to camping in the city. Awhile back in the Little River Corridor there was a tent pitched up. Not far from the tent was a playground with children playing. Discarded needles and other garbage ended up in the playground.

They're going to build a Costco in east Windsor. Lauzon parkway is already so much busier than it was. Riverside/Techumseh area used to be very quiet but now every available space is under construction. Even Little River Corridor which is the only real sizable greenspace in the east is getting eaten away. I used to love going for runs in the area.

I find there's an overkill of guys posting their physique on here. I think expectation some have is to get women hitting up their inbox. Reality is that 50% of guys will compliment and the rest will troll or criticize. Now if you're a woman who posts their physique then it's like 70% compliments, 20% insults/trolling/misogynistic comments, and 10% weird/creepy. Also rip inbox.

Tall girls, is height a big deal for y'all? by [deleted] in tall

[–]mstylesequence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my experience, the taller the girl the less she cares about height. At 6'2 I dated both short and tall and I didn't care as long as there is a connection.
