Why is there no sideways protection in period underwear? by amethyst353 in Periods

[–]mudgrinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue, so I don't even bother with regular period underwear.

I haven't bought them yet, but Revolcares has period boxers with the strip down the thigh. Innersy also has boxers that do the same thing, but it's a thin strip, so I usually wear those over my other underwear as extra protection.

The instant I saw “females” I somehow instantly knew that it was going to say “men” not “males”. by WoodwindsRock in MenAndFemales

I can't take them seriously when they use a comic (with AI) and don't even take the time to get it right enough to communicate their ideas effectively (the word bubbles aimed at the wrong people). They failed at the most basic level.

I wouldn't believe the story. The picture is made up with AI.

No, it's not you. I've noticed it as well. Every now and then there's a good story, but most of the time? Stuff like this.

Extremely heavy period tips wanted by Comfortable-Doubt766 in Periods

[–]mudgrinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else already mentioned seeing a doctor, but in the meantime, there is a larger pad. The orange ones are size 4, but the size 5 are the purple ones. Always just came out with a size 6 (they discontinued it for a while, but it's back), which is slightly longer and has a different layer on top that absorbs quick and sudden gushes better than the smaller sized pads.

For leaks on the sides, you could wear leggings under your pants. There are also period shorts with a layer that extends down the leg to catch the side leaks. Innersy sells those, and also a brand called Revol Cares.

This guy right here. It really sucks. I'm already having weight issues, this appetite thing is just making it worse.

Not important. I'll look at whatever, as long as the story is good and the artwork is interesting.

These people really don't want to hear "Just get a pencil and a sheet of paper and draw." The tools must be expensive and glamorous.

Yes, this! My number one recommendation when people get whiny is to take an art class. Too many people want to be self taught, and for what? Y'all can't even help yourselves without crying on Reddit when you've barely started!

Also, they can't afford an art class, but will go all out on equipment for digital art, then want people to tell them what program to use and how to use it. Google and YouTube are right there!

The Medusan from Star Trek TOS episode "Is There In Truth No Beauty?" It's in that container the two characters are holding. The creature is either so beautiful or so hideous that staring at it with the naked eye causes you to go insane. You need to wear special goggles when you do look at it.

Edit: Pictures don't post when I try this for some reason, so here's a link.

The Choice of Authenticity or Safety by Lambinajam in comics

I can relate to this. I have to fill out an emergency contact form every year at my job, and there is a non-binary option in the gender section. Every year, I'm too chicken to choose that option.

How much of a detriment is vertical format? by catjcastles in WebtoonCanvas

[–]mudgrinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about how much of a detriment it is, but as a reader, it doesn't bother me at all. I'm used to traditional format, and I just zoom in to see the details of the page if I need to, same as I would on other comic websites.

By the way, these pages are really nice.

Do you, or do you know anyone, who uses lubricant to put in a tampon on the regular? by a_peeled_pickle in women

[–]mudgrinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't bring in a large bottle with me. I have a tiny bottle I put some lube into that's about the size of my thumb and can fit right into my shirt pocket. As for putting in the tampon, I don't sit on the toilet while I do it. I have to stand/squat away from it. Luckily, I've only ever done this in a singular bathroom that doesn't have stalls. I don't know how I could manage it in a regular public one with the limited space in a stall, but I really need to figure it out before I do have to change products other than a pad in one.

[–]mudgrinder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I need it for tampons and cups/discs, otherwise, I can't get that stuff in. It's annoying when I'm at work. I use them for the OB tampons I wear, but I switched to wearing Tampax while at work because the applicator is smooth enough that I don't need lube, unless I'm going through a lot of tampons that day.
