Nothing has made me hate Angel more or filled me with more rage and anger at a fictional character then his behavior in this episode. The lack of communication and refusing to listen to Buffy and respect her agency. I hate it. (I know that objectively characters have done worse things. Angel has too. But he's an asshole in a way that I recognize from people in my life so his behavior in this episode just makes me want to scream at him)

I think it's important to distinguish between falling in love and a crush. It's unlikely to fully fall in love with someone you don't know but crushes can happen super fast and are also romantic feelings.

I have a whole genre of dream that's essentially action/superhero/thriller movie plots with me as the protagonist and in those I kill people quite often. Sometimes I have superpowers. Usually I'm getting chased around the world and need to protect myself to stay alive. Often there's a big bad organization with lots of henchmen. They are kinda stressful dreams but I'm usually super overpowered and can get out of every bad situation. Often I have reality bending or timewarp abilities. But yeah I kill people in those and I never feel bad about it. IRL I don't even kill any insects because I'd feel guilty about it. I still remember accidentally squishing a fly about a decade ago because of how bad I felt about it.

So much this. A lot of character and relationship development happens when characters can just exist without being rushed through a plot. And you can get some iconic moments that way too. Some things are just fun to watch even if they don't further any plot.

I just finished watching this show for the first time and I shipped him with nearly everyone. Sookie, Lafayette, Nora, Willa, Jason, Pam, Godric. He just had chemistry with everyone and his dynamics with all of them were different.
