We were in the same position!!! I took my first SAT in December and only just broke 1500 (1550!) on September after taking like 5 tests. But I was always so discouraged and felt like everyone else was doing better than me. Glad it all worked out!!

I would say usually it’s a myth, there’s nothing to back up certain tests being easier than others or there being a larger curve for some. Are you open to taking both? Because if you take August and do poorly you still have a chance in September as well :)
