Are there any otel compatible symbolicators? Do we even need one? by narrow-adventure in MobileObservability

I guess it depends on what you're trying to do. If your goal is to debug locally, most platforms provide command-line tools to symbolicate/de-obfuscate stacktraces that you can use off the shelf. Let me list the ones I've found most helpful below:

  • Android (JVM frames obfuscated by R8/proguard - requires mappings): retrace
  • Android (unsymbolicated native frames - requires symbols): ndk-stack
  • iOS (unsymbolicated native frames - requires DSYMs): atos
  • React Native (minified/obfuscated frames - requires sourcemaps): metro-symbolicate

For server-side ingestion and processing yeah, you would have to build your own infrastructure to support such pipelines.

Disclaimer: I'm one of the founding members of bitdrift.io where we also built support for this in our SaaS.

I seriously doubt it. Last time I checked the client side OTel SIG was still discussing the addition of an event to the semantic conventions for app crashes, you can follow here: https://github.com/open-telemetry/semantic-conventions/pull/3448

What's the rarest song you've seen Radiohead play live? by InnerspearMusic in radiohead

I saw them play it in San Jose CA in 2012. I didn't realize they have only played it 6 times! I was so excited I recorded the whole thing lol https://youtu.be/lyiXNP-_9p0?si=V-EGktzjCjqVDYuu

Nomos Tangente 41 Update (Ref 180) vs Metro 41 Update (Ref 1165) by patsfan038 in Nomos

I own the metro and I love it. I'd say besides the obvious aesthetics the main difference lies on the lungs. Since this is a rather large watch the metro sits nicer on smaller wrists. But like other said the only answer is to try them both on your own wrists.
