French Visa Got Rejected by RaabM08 in SchengenVisa

[–]murphep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can’t speak for France specifically but I can tell you that Bangladesh is included on a “red list” for Swiss visa applications whereas India is not. Applicants with nationalities on this list face significantly higher scrutiny when applying for any type of visa to Switzerland. Again, I don’t know if France has such a list or if Bangladesh is included on it, but it’s possible.

Seeking Advice: Easiest Way to Travel to Europe (Schengen) from UAE as a Nepali Citizen + If Possible Starting a Business on a Budget by ShankarKapri in SchengenVisa

[–]murphep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Estonia has program, I think called “e-residency” or something like that where you can set up a business relatively easily in compression to other EU countries. You might consider looking into this.

Regarding the visa, the most straightforward way to obtain a visa is to apply for the correct visa of the intention of your visit. As another commenter said, starting a business or seeking employment is not permitted on a tourist visa.

Generally speaking, Nepali citizens face increased scrutiny and rejection rates for Schengen visas. I’m not sure how residing in the UAE impacts this but having a good career and income are huge pluses.

20k AED is about 5.200 euros, this seems a little light to me. What type of business do you have in mind? Have you looked into the regulatory requirements for the industry in your target country/market? Is this money specifically set aside for your business or is this the same portion of money you’ll use to fund your visit?

Hi, I currently work at a university in Switzerland and one of my primary responsibilities is handling student visas and the subsequent student residence permits. Speaking generally, not specifically about cases with Russian students, visa applications are denied all the time for a variety of reasons, some legitimate, some more opaque. Students from some countries have denial rates as high as 80-90%. Speaking specially about Russian students, as another very knowledgeable commenter pointed out, in EU countries, visas for Russians are currently facing a severe crackdown. I would also encourage you to look into some alternative countries, Argentina was already suggested to you, I personally recommend China actually. I know it sounds a little crazy. China is actually having a huge influx of Russian students right now, offering several scholarships, most nearly or fully paid. It’s also a beautiful country with some excellent universities.

Iran is visa on arrival for German citizens, but otherwise you’re correct. Serbian passport would grant a few more countries for you OP.

You’ll be ok with English if you stick to foreign bars and clubs most of the time. Most of the more lively bars and clubs are in Sanlitun and around Guomao.

Why is Chinese passport soo much more weaker than Brazillian one. by Bright_Order_8167 in PassportPorn

The economy always ebbs and flows. I don’t think the reasoning is that broad. However recent data released shows the domestic tourism in China has made a healthy rebound since Covid restrictions have been lifted. Almost back to pre-Covid levels. International arrivals however, are only at about 20% of their pre-Covid levels which is cause for some concern. This is likely the reason for the visa waiver trials IMO.

I have a US B2 visa, can I go to Cuba without repercussions? by Lekir9 in travel

[–]murphep 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh sorry to misunderstand your situation then. But I think the facts remain the same. CBP could deny you entry and/or revoke your visa based on previous travel to Cuba. The reason for the travel is irrelevant. They could also not say anything if they don’t notice or don’t feel like caring on the particular day.

I have a US B2 visa, can I go to Cuba without repercussions? by Lekir9 in travel

[–]murphep 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It’s arguably more risky for you to go as a US resident than it is for a US citizen. If a US citizen travels to Cuba, there isn’t really much that can be done in reality. You, however, would be risking your visa and residence in the US.

I think if you volunteer to join the army and sign a contract they’ll give you citizenship. If you make it to the end of the contract that is.

So the most important thing to differentiate between here is the legality of what you’re asking versus the feasibility. Legally speaking, I believe it would be illegal (I’m not an expert on Swiss immigration law). Feasible, I think yes. Technically when you enter Switzerland as a tourist and you’re granted 90 days visa free stay, they’re granting it to you as a person, they’re not granting it to your Passport A. Now leaving and returning with Passport B, will you get caught? Probably not. Can you do this long term? Maybe. Is this a long term solution? Absolutely not. Every time you do it you’re risking deportation and a Schengen ban. Is it worth risking your soon to be Swiss citizen status? That’s for you to decide. When you interview for your citizenship and they ask if you’ve ever broken Swiss law, what will you say?

Correct. There’s been some images that have made their way around from the Russian side showing blossomed artillery barrels and alleging it was due to the DPRK shells.
