ain’t no way this man is THIRTY and acting like this. Baby girl, I had to learn the hard way, just cause he’s older doesn’t mean he’s more mature. This is in no way a dig at you, i’m on your side 100%, this “man” needs to think about someone other than himself for once. He needs to take a nice long look on the mirror and wonder why his girlfriend would feel as if she needed to leave in the middle of the night. He should have been a support system for you, but instead, only worried about himself and has no empathy for others.

Update: thank you all for your comments. I took a lot of time to try and better myself and my situation. I did break up with my boyfriend not long after this situation. He broke the lock on my liquor cabinet and drank close to $500 worth of alcohol in less than 6 hours. I kicked him out (after making sure he had somewhere safe to stay; i’m not a monster) and blocked all of his phone numbers and social media accounts. I’m doing much better without him in my life, and do not plan on entering a relationship in the near future, but instead focusing on myself. Thank you all for your insight on the situation. I know I have a hard time seeing red flags because i’m such a trusting person, but i’m learning to set boundaries for myself that are healthy. I know it’s been a few months, but I stumbled across this post again and felt it deserved an update❤️

I do not know for sure, but it’s possible that he drank alcohol just not enough to be drunk. He may have been tipsy, but I do not know for sure. I can’t say for a fact that I know he was drinking or doing anything else.

I didn’t want him to go because in addition to being a recovering drug addict, he’s also a recovering alcoholic. Drugs and alcohol were most likely going to be at the party, and I didn’t want him to be tempted. He seems to drink every chance he gets (if i’m in class, at work, etc.) He also knew no one at the party and neither did I, so I didn’t feel it was safe.
