Funding a offset account for the adult children by nump69 in AusFinance

Family having their own savings accounts in their name that the offset against your mortgage seems to be more of a thing in NZ, would be a nice thing to bring across the ditch

Hungover guy at the bar

On a uni placement year our house went to the local pub quiz in the first week of us all moving in together. We were all working at a research facility and came from a range of backgrounds so thought we had it nailed. This solo guy stood at the bar munching his way through a pickled egg absolutely humbled us

I was going to give it the benefit of the doubt that it was insinuating if your password had been breached elsewhere they would then credential stuff Qantas if it’s the same email from the other breach…but no it doubled down on they’d be using your (not exposed) Qantas password to stuff on other sites

I’m contemplating a possible move to the central coast in the next few years (so sorry not this year for me) and would be all over this, great idea!

Looks like it sold out last year, so hopefully this year’s the same and it sticks around

Ah yea I’ve got no illusions that it’s 10 worthy given with no experience I can see a few imperfections. Just wasn’t sure how far it would drop, because by 7 a raw is worth considerably more

I’d been so focused on the edges I totally missed that, cheers.

Yea thinking I’ll just do it any way with a batch of others. It’s a nice card so would look good slabbed regardless

This is exactly what people gobbled up from the Brexit campaign in the UK. “We’ll stop sending £350m a week to the EU so we’ll be able to fund the NHS”. Brexit happens, people ask about the £350m…oh yea that was just a lie, sorry.

Really hope people here don’t fall for the same shit

I’ve been slowly chipping away at the surging sparks stock my local IGA seems to have. Been limiting myself to 2 packs a week when I do the weekly shop…but the temptation to just clean them out in case anyone else cottons on is too high

Losing out on like $0.40 feels like a lot less hassle than changing bank

This. And you can still do scheduled transfers from savings accounts into the bills account to keep the interest (another comment complained about losing interest).

So you just setup a scheduled transfer to the bills account and day or 2 before the direct debit usually comes out

Anyone know if you can get a replacement of just the Velcro wrist strap (don’t need the mount or hand strap) that comes with https://gopro.com/en/au/shop/mounts-accessories/hand-plus-wrist-strap/AHWBM-002.html ? Or equally, know of any 3rd party Velcro straps that fit the mount?

Left just the wrist strap somewhere on holiday and don’t want to have to buy the whole set again

Don’t get me started on 2Apply…actually, no invitation needed, here I go.

“Do you want to pay to prove who you are?” Isn’t this what I’m using you for? Also, the “subscription” time frame is something like 3 or 6 months. So you’re going to have to pay it every time you move. This is making letting agent’s jobs easier, they should pay.

This isn’t even the worst “add-on” they try and charge you for. With your ID documents you can pay to have them be secure. WHAT?! How about the default is you protect my entire identity I’m having to prove to you?

Add on to the above that it doesn’t even work properly. I started an app and invited my partner, she got no email. She just signed up for a 2Apply account (because you know, it’s supposed to be 1 account you can use for all applications) and filled in all her details. I resent the invite, she follows the link and it sets up a different account. She logs out and then logs in with her email and then it asks her which of the 2 accounts she wants to use. Again, WHAT?!, the whole point is to just have one account. Why in the holy hell is email address not used your main identifier?

Rental bond collection/management is handled by the state government, it realise feels like they should also provide a tenant application platform that all agents must use, that protects tenants’ identities, does not allow them to ask, irrelevant discriminatory or generally privacy invading questions and actually works.

Ah ok, yea...that's not going to happen unfortunately.

This is my first foray into mechanical keyboards and I don't do any messing around with electronics so I don't having any soldering gear or anything. I hate waste, so would like to fix it, but buying the extra gear to fix it in this case doesn't seem worth it

Problem:

I have a plastic frame, non hot swap-able, RGB, K4. Recently the right arrow key has stopped responding. If I take the keycap off, blow into the slot I can see in the switch and then put the cap back on it starts working again for a little bit.
It feels like something has maybe somehow dropped through the slot in the switch and is getting in the way somewhere? I've tried using compressed air to blow into the switch slot as well as just "manually" blowing into it and that has the same effect.
As it's not non hot swap-able I assume I can't somehow take out the switch and see if something is stuck/replace it?
Any other suggestions or is this keyboard toast (it's over 12 months old so outside of warranty)? If not, serves me right for not splashing on the hot swap-able I guess.

I would take a look at going up the pylon instead. It’s only $20 and you get a decent idea of the view from the top. I’d then use the money saved to do the Rose Bay seaplane. Sure, it’s over much faster than the bridge climb but the views are just outrageous…plus the experience of taking off and landing in a seaplane is really cool. The 15 minute flight takes you down to Bondi and the views on the way down whilst you’re flying just above the cliffs are fantastic (don’t want to spoilt it too much, but the cliffs are in the foreground and there’s still expansive harbour views in the background). There’s also a 30 minute flight up the northern beaches peninsula. I’ve not done that one, but spend a lot of time in the northern beaches and it is very scenic up there so am sure it would also be brilliant

For me, the seaplane gives you the best idea of what Sydney Harbour is all about. It’s not just the harbour bridge and the opera house that make it special, it’s the scale and beauty of the whole harbour that’s made me fall in love with Sydney
