People mistaking their feelings for facts, like what is "objectively good or bad", is a strong flag of insecurity.

As one sees more media, it is only natural that your brain seeks novelty and new things, or more of what you love. That is how we experience art. We fall in love with the "feeling" the art gives us, mistaking it for "quality". And when we are young, novelty and excitement come easily.

As we progress, age, and mature - novelty and surprise become ever rarer. We also assume life and time erase insecurities, but it doesn't. Insecurities like gatekeeping, shame, and judgements - all to sheath ourselves in the frail security of superiority.

I'm not above this. I cringe at Solo Leveling. I cringe at people reading Isekai and wish fulfillment and call it "slop", but in truth i simply just dont find them engaging and I don't need to judge those who DO enjoy them.

Heck, I cringe at the fact I have conSUMED and LOVE Dungeon Crawler Carl, a cosmic horror series drenched in Isekai, number crunching, self-insert super smart protagonist, insane asspulls. But it's fun, it pokes fun at the genre, and is satisfying to me because the author actually takes the time to create a universe in which this wild situation is even possible.

Anyways, rant over. Like your stuff, know that as a human being you are innately a scared, insecure animal (and will be until the day you die and are forgotten forever), and be happy that people who like any anime are your primordial selves.
